I made a name change for my harborside week on vistana.com, its been about 5 days now, the Marriott.com reservation still has the old name, and it doesnt' look like I can change it...any idea how long the change will "sync" up between the sites?

thanks!

I've a feeling the answer to that might be never considering the IT challenges they continue to experience. However, someone who has done it the way you mention more recently might be able to give you better news.

The most Vistana name changes have taken for me was 4-5 business days, but it's been a while. If your 5 days include this past weekend maybe wait another 1-2 days.

You can also try making the name change again on the Vistana side (I've done that too), putting the exact identical info for the gust. To the extent something happened with your initial request, it will send them another one. And, worst case, it gets processed twice and they don't do anything the second time after they see it's already changed (maybe they will blame IT, thinking they got it twice by accident!)

Not specific to Harborside but other Vistana properties it usually takes 3-4 days. If it hasn't changed in a week I would call.

I recently booked Harborside for a guest and put his name in it during the initial reservation process. This reservation is not listed at my Marriott account. I only see it at vistana.com, and it correctly shows the travelers name. I've read the various threads on this topic, but I don't see any reason to be concerned. Should I?

It's probably not showing up in your account because your Bonvoy number doesn't match the guest name.

You can call them to get the Marriott reservation number if you need it.

The reservation needs to be in the guest's name WITH MARRIOTT for them to check-in. However, it usually takes a minimum of 3 business days for the name to be changed. Marriott enters the guest info BY HAND, and they don't seem to work on them over the weekend. Because it's done manually, some of them fall through the cracks, and there are a lot of typos made on guest's names. If it hasn't changed in a week, you can resubmit the guest's info through the dashboard as usual. *** After it has been changed, they should email you the Marriott confirmation in the guest's name.

I see the correct guest name at vistana. Is that all I need to verify?

No - You need to be sure Marriott has it in their system. This is how it works:
1. Owner enters guest info on their Vistana Acct.
2. Vistana issues a 6-digit confirmation and sends the info to Marriott.
3. Marriott hand enters the info in their system, issues an 8-digit Marriott confirmation, and emails it to owner.
4. Marriott sends the guest's info to the front desk.

If Marriott doesn't send the guest info to the front desk, your guest cannot confirm their reservation, or check-in.

Ok... so I made this reservation back in April, and after a quick search, I don't see any Marriott emails about it. Should I submit the contact form at Vistana or call?

This is true for all Vistana resorts, but anecdotal evidence suggests Harborside is an exception. Harborside apparently uses Vistana reservations for check in, not Marriott reservations.

I've had this happen a couple of times at HRA. I had to call owner services and they eventually sent me a form to fill out & email back with the guests name & info & it was finally fixed after another week or 10 days.

Have you tried looking up the reservation on Marriott.com using the guest name and 8-digit confirmation? Did you ever receive an 8-digit confirmation?

This form no longer works for Vistana owners.

I only have the vistana confirmation number. If I hadn't seen the threads and posts here about this issue, I would have assumed all was well.

You can also call, or message Vistana Owner Services to get the Marriott #.
