My Quest For Points to Rent

Dear Group:

I just enrolled my 2 bedroom, MVC Grande Vista Villa in the MVC points program (thank-you to everyone who told me to do the webinar on the MVC website). I am trying to do an extended stay at Marriott Beachplace Towers ("MBP") in January, 2026. I had two available weeks (I own one week, but had another week carried over from a previous year) which I put into Interval and am waiting to (hopefully) exchange them into MBP in January, 2026, Anyway, now that I am enrolled:

Am I eligible to rent points from another enrolled Marriott owner, which I can use in January, 2026? When I look at the MVC website it references a "use week" for 2027, not 2026. The timeframes when you can use points are also confusing (13 months? 12 months? 10 months? Reserving by September 30th????); and

If I can rent another owner's points, what's the best/most secure way to get the points? I know MVC has a transfer portal, but it's not clear to me how I would pay the owner I am renting points from.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

In the last year or two MVC instituted a cap of 20,000 points that can be transferred into a given account each year.
