MVC Membership Benefit Update Calls

I have been receiving voice mail messages from MVC about important membership benefit updates. I haven't returned the calls, but am curious whether others are receiving similar calls. I'm currently Chairman level.

I made the mistake of answering a couple of times, always when I'm expecting a different call and automatically answered my phone without looking at the caller ID. They just want to get you to attend a virtual "owner update" aka sales pitch. The first time they tried to pitch it as educating me about the new Abound program even though it's been around for a couple of years now and I've already been using Abound. The second time they tried to pitch it as educating me about the Hello Hotels benefit, which I have no intention of ever using. As always, they tried to dangle incentives to agree to the "update." Don't remember the amounts but it was a choice between Plus Points, miles or a Visa gift card.

Be sure if these are actually phone calls from MVC or someone hiding under their verbal identification, i.e. someone who has nothing to do with MVC but using the MVC designation to discuss something which could turn out to be a scam.

To much fraud going on everywhere now!

A couple of years? It has been around for 16 years this June!!!

The version that is known as Abound and includes Vistana resorts has only been around a couple of years. Yes, I know there was a previous version known as Destination Club, when it only contained MVC and Ritz-Carlton properties. But they were trying to market to me based on the "new" Abound system, and my point was that even just that version was already around for a couple of years. :rolleyes:

Check the number. The ones I received were a scam call. Similar to the II calls.
