Murphy Beds in Maui?

My folks were just at the Maui Ocean Club. They said that they had a Murphy bed in the living room of their 1 bedroom. Is that correct? When did that happen? Are there Murphy beds in all of the units? I assume that they are much more comfortable than the hide a beds, but that isn't a high standard . . . .

If they are as great as they sound to me, I'm wondering about purchasing one for my home. Any insights into where to look?

Thanks!

We are home owners at Maui Ocean Club. In the "living room", there is a sofa sleeper - not a Murphy. I have slept on a Murphy before and it was quite comfortable - and more comfortable than a sofabed.

I checked with the Maui property and I was told that the Maui property purchased a few (3 if I recall correctly) of the Kauai Murphy beds to "test" at the Maui location. My folks happened to be assigned to one of those units. I also heard from the HOA president who was very much in favor of the Murphy beds. The challenge is that the current sofa beds are 2 years into a 5 year useful life.

We had a sofa bed in both of our units last week. They were typical "uncomfortable" sofa beds. I hope we see Murphy beds in the future. They are probably significantly more expensive. But, in my opinion, they turn the sofa bed into a truly useable bed (including by adults).
