[ MOVED] Palm Springs timeshare for LA fires displaced family?

Hi all - the head of sales for my company who I've known 10 years lost her home in the Pacific Palisades fire. Like so many others she is bouncing from hotel to hotel and short term rental to short term rental with her husband and 4 children aged 1 year to 6 years old. I was told she recently got a house in Palm Springs but only for 5 days - and it made me wonder if I could secure her some housing via TUGers at a time share property where at least they would have a kitchen and some things to do to entertain the kids!

Does anyone have weeks in Desert Springs or Shadow Ridge that they are renting in the coming month or 2? That they would consider talking to her about? She is willing to pay for these - it's just been really hard to find them so far.

OR

Could we TUG trade my two 2 bed/2bath units in Marriott Willow Ridge in Branson with reservations for Memorial Day week (that could possibly be adjusted dates based on your need) for your units in Feb?

P.S. At Cliff Club this week skiing snowbird - which is the the best ski in ski out I've ever stayed at. Will add my review this weekend.

Just FYI - she might want to check out Redweek postings. There are plenty at Newport Coast. Folks can try and negotiate the pricing, but I'd still expect it to be around $2200-$2500 week simply due to MF cost.

If they have insurance, I recommend they contact a property management firm and find a home to rent. Their loss of use coverage will pay for it. I have been evaluating homes for rent in the LA area for my family and friends, also displaced, and I've found a number in various parts of the valley for ~$5-8k per month. I also know others who have found homes closer to the Palisades for more than double that. It all depends on where the family wants to be, which school district, etc. But if they're considering moving to PS, they may consider the valley - I suggest Studio City, North Hollywood, Valley Village, perhaps even Burbank. Lots of resources online.

I am seeing Vacation weeks for rent thru GPX 2 bedrooms at Indian Palms in Indio for $574 just about every week for the next 2 months. There is also San Diego Country Estates in Ramona for same price. There might also be a guest fee.

If your friend can work at a remote location, she may want to consider moving to North San Diego county. The housing is less expensive than the area she was from and there are a lot of homes on the market. The market might even be considered to be a bit soft. Inland home prices, like in Escondido (where Welk/Hyatt resort is located) are more affordable.
