Modification of an existing reservation - some Wyndham rules to know

Just in case you didn't realize here are some things to know about modifying a reservation:

You can only add days, NOT remove them. If you want to remove days, you have to cancel and rebook.
You can add UP TO three days to the beginning of the existing reservation.
You can add UP TO three days to the end of the existing reservation.
You can ONLY add days to the beginning of an existing reservation ONE TIME only
You can ONLY add days to the end of an existing reservation ONE TIME only

So beware, you have only 1 shot at adding dates to the front AND 1 shot at adding dates to the end.

So if you need 3 days prior to your existing dates and ONLY 2 days are available, you have to decide if you wait for the 3rd day, or you grab the 2 days available. Because once you add the 2 days, you are NO longer permitted to add any additional days on the the front of the reservation.

I didn't realize this, and neither did the Phone rep I called. I need 1 more day and now how no way to add it.

Thanks for sharing the "once and done" limitation on adding days to either end of the date range. Good info and it's especially valuable to know that even the phone reps cannot do this. Is this something we want to make as an official product enhancement request?

It's my general understanding that the ability to remove days is coming in a future enhancement - this is why they changed the moniker from the originally named "Add Nights" to "Modify Dates."

I would certainly request this as an enhancement. No idea why someone thought one and done was a good strategy, or even 3 days each direction was. This is too limiting. Especially if you are trying to collect a stay that is rather last minute. You take what you can get, and hope for the rest. I would think that after each modification the reservation just resets. The only ligit restriction should be that the max reservation number of days is not exceeded. What is that? 14 days on Wyndham. Why have even that restriction? I think Worldmarks restriction is 30 days. Does someone know what WM is for sure?
