I have a renter checking in now within 60 days, and he is late with his final payment (due at 60 days). I added his name on 1/25. It never changed in Marriott. Never checked because we had so much time, and besides that, it's supposed to be automatic.
I cancelled the guest name, entered it again, and his first name is spelled incorrectly by Marriott (correct through Vistana). So I did it again, cancelled the guest name, added his name again, and another misspelling of his first name by Marriott, not by me. I sent the Vistana confirmation each time right after I received it.
My guest wants me to change it again. Called Vistana, they will not do a change for me of one letter. Once again, I have to modify the confirmation on the Vistana side and wait for the change on the Marriott side.
This is somewhat comical, not really angry about it myself, but my guest is blaming me for the misspellings. Seriously, he thinks I did it wrong on my end.
I have another person this is happening with, not a difficult name at all, but he paid in full.
These are all Sheraton weeks for summer.
All of this could be avoided with the front desk accepting either Vistana or Marriott confirmation. They will not. My guest called and gave the front desk the confirmation number for Vistana. That number is not acceptable to Sheraton' front desk as a valid confirmation. Then why do we still have that as a confirmation number?
Why are we still dealing with this 3 years after the supposed Marriott takeover of Sheraton/ Westin?
