I had never caught COVID, until a month ago in London when we were on a Collette tour. I caught it from a couple sitting behind us in the tour bus, whom the Tour Manager told us that they had COVID after I came down with it. They were coughing the whole time when they sat behind us. I didn't wear a mask because, heck, I had been fully vaccinated and boostered (5X) and thought I was invincible. The couple was going to "shadow" the trip, by taking a train to Wales (next stop after London) and joining the tour group in hotels and places of interest. They were as selfish as they come. Anyway, I self-quarantined for 5 days, per British rule, before getting a flight home, masking up throughout.

I had mild flu-like symptoms and the fever went off after 2 days. At the end of 5 days, I started to develop a cough. It wasn't bad and I never had a sore throat throughout. Well, that cough got worse and never went away. So a month after I caught COVID, I am still coughing, because of an itchy and raw throat. It keeps me up at night. I got an X-ray, all clear, and my PCP referred to an Infection Disease Specialist. Anyway, the ID Specialist said a bad chronic cough after recovery is very common with the latest strain of COVID. I just started on a course of oral steroid and I am supposed to feel better by the weekend. I hope so. This is the most miserable that I have felt in many years.

So sorry to hear this.
I too am suffering, violent headaches, terrible sinus infection. The latter caused by blockage after February surgery. I have been on antibiotics for over five weeks, so my stomach is shot. Took a culture today and then will get the “right antibiotic “. Waiting for pet scan to be approved by insurance, then decide whether to return to Florida for surgery during hurricane season or wait, and see if lymph nodes need removal too.

Sorry that you are not feeling well. Try taking some probiotics as it is supposed to help with the system after/during taking antibiotics. Violent headaches and sinus infection are miserable. I hope the pet scan will be definitive as to what to do next.

Sorry to hear about this. Both times i cough Covid was after travel. The 2nd and most recent case I also caught covid on a Collette tour in April. I started feeling a little off on the last day of the tour, and tested positive once i got home. Fortunately, i was doing much better and testing negative by the end of the week.

Hop you both get better soon.

How do you know you caught it from a particular couple? You were on a tour in London. Around potentially hundreds, if not thousands of people.
Why would you sit directly in front of someone who was coughing the way you describe?
