I purchased the 12volt battery (hopefully pictured below...did the link work?

https://www.mightymaxbattery.com/sh...volt-55-amph-sla-pc12500-replacement-battery/

It has two terminal on the top......it looks like I simply connect negative to negative etc. to charge it.

Yet, the Box came with two sets of Nuts/Bolts/washers.

I don't think I need those....but maybe I do.

I don't want to blow myself up !!!

Thanks,
Pat

What is the application? The bolts and nuts attach wires with a ring connector on the end. If you are just charging it then the alligator clips can be clipped to the terminals.

I use a battery like that for our standby generator. I usually replace the old nuts and bolts with the new ones. Whether you need them really depends on your application.

I will use it as the battery for my Kangaroo remote Golf Bag carrier.

So, I think what you have told me is I don't need the nuts/bolts is correct (?)

What does the connector on the golf bag and charger look like? No one can guess what you need without seeing what you plan to connect it to. Are you replacing an existing battery or is this a new application?

I have an old charger for batteries that have 'died'. It was a part to the original Kangaroo Caddy....but that really isn't important.

I used to re-charge by clipping on what a previous responder called 'alligator clips'.

So, it confused me when this new Battery had nuts/bolts.

It probably has nuts/bolts because the terminals have holes to put the bolts through, rather than simply posts that clamps/alligator clips can attach to. the nuts/bolts will make a more secure connection.

Use the proper battery charger. A 12 volt car battery charger can kill this small a battery. I use a 4 amp charger for my lawn tractor battery, motorcycles and other orv's. Red goes to positive, black goes to negative.

We still don't know what the connectors on your dead batteries look like and what the wiring to the battery looks like, so no one can tell you how to hook it up.

One terminal will be clearly marked positive with a +. One terminal will be clearly marked negative with -. The battery charger will have corresponding notations usually with red for positive + and black for negative - . The nut and bolts are to connect the battery to the machine cables. The lead terminals on top of the battery are the positive and negative sides of the battery. This is where the ends of the battery charger alligator clip connects to charge the battery.

What often happens is a person will use a 10 amp 12 volt battery charger for a large vehicle battery to charge a small machine battery. This destroys the small battery. The small battery should have no more than 4 amps charging it.

I looked up the Kangaroo golf caddy and they use lithium batteries, you purchased an AGM battery, very different charging. Maybe you have an older model that uses AGM batteries?

Yeah, my model is from the 1990s.

I have power to MANUALLY run the Kangaroo.

Unfortunately, I have had to bring "IT" to someone because the remote is not communicating.

Thanks to all
