I am planning a trip to So. Cal, and going to go to WM La Paloma across the border. Has anyone purchased car insurance on-line? What's the best site? What to get?

We did the same trip you're talking about 3 years ago. We booked a rental car at the airport in San Diego and they told us it was "safer" to purchase the Mexican insurance through them rather than "on the road". If I remember right, the cost was about the same as the price of renting the car. I had tried to find a reliable source on the internet but didn't feel good about anything I found. Hope you have a wonderful trip!

I belong to the travel club Vagabundos del Mar, 190 Main Street, Rio Vista, California, telephone number (800) 474-2252 or Fax (707)374-6843. Their hours are 8-5, membership fee is $35 a year. You can purchase Mexican Auto Insurance "Tourist", Legal aid coverage and fishing license through the "Vags". The club is incorporated in the State of California as a non profit social club, since 1971. Give Calrol a call at the club and explain what you want and I'm sure she can help you. I went whale watching for three weeks this past February in Baja and was insured by the club.
