We used Megabus last year for $4.50 total for 2 RT tickets to Pittsburgh to save over $300 in plane fare by flying from there over the price of a ticket out of Cleveland.

We were scheduled to change planes in Cleveland and take the flight that would have cost more from here.

I contacted the airline to see if we could just pick up the second leg of the trip here in Cleveland. We were told that if we miss the initial flight, they would cancel the entire round trip itinerary.

I asked how it could cost so much less to fly out of Pittsburgh when it involved more miles and connecting in Cleveland. They said they are trying to gain more business there so the fares are reduced.
