We went years ago, when the kids were about 7 and 5, they loved it, especially the eating without utensils. Food was surprisingly edible. Beware the heavy merchandising, shepherding people into the gift shops, etc...
 
There are coupons in the paper and in the Entertainment book, try not to pay full price. My 12yo went recently on a school field trip and said it was fun.
 
I took my son and a few friends as a birthday outing a few years ago and we had a blast. If you can get discounts even better. It's a fun thing to do.
 
I've been there twice. Took my best friend a few years ago for her 40 something birthday and we all loved it. Just be prepared ahead of time to decide if you want to pose and buy the pictures they will take of you as you enter the arena and again at your table. If you are celebrating a birthday etc. be sure to let the folks know as you check in because you get a free announcement. You can take your own camera and pose with the knights after the show.
 
Medieval Times is a plenty of fun. I've been to it in Orlando, Myrtle Beach (about two weeks ago) & Lyndhurst. The shows are the same at all the arenas. The arena in Lyndhurst is a bit smaller than the others but that doesn't detract from it.

OT, but true (and funny)

Medieval Times used to send a knight and horse as a mascot of sorts for Rutgers Football

About a dozen years ago, Rutgers was playing Army, Rutgers scored a touchdown to go ahead and the knight goes charging down the field...

Unsportsmanlike conduct penalty called on Rutgers, kicker backed up, extra point missed

Rutgers won the game, but I never forgave Medieval Times for that stunt (in those days, wins were rare)

A true "Spinal Tap" moment
