Medical Question....

I have no idea, but I bet Google does...that's where I found out about my medial epicondylectomy!

TUG folks know so much so I figured I would as this question here:

What does bilateral axillary tail nodules mean?

bilateral means both sides
axillary refers to the armpit

so, nodules in both armpits--possibly breast cancer?

I did google and yahoo search it but didn't come up with enough laymen terms -- everything was case studies or medical journals.

My mom is a breast cancer survivor, I have a cousin who has stage 3 breast cancer, my sister has something else (I forgot the name) but not cancer. My first mammogram was Saturday and they have called me back for an ultrasound. My mom is out of the country so I can't get her to explain the process if it is cancer or just enlarged lymph nodes. I do plan to ask lots of questions tomorrow but I can't figure out what my questions are. I now understand what the term means literally but not what it really means.

I've been told not to stress out but that's not helping!

Many of the best places for information are written above your current knowledge level, so that is problem. Go here, to Medlineplus and begin with the "start here" section. It is written in easy to understand language for patients and family, and will get you started in a general way. If you have time, do it before your doctor's appointment.

Take care,

Fern

Call 1-800-4CANCER with your question. A cancer information specialist will be able to help you. They also will mail you information. (Cancer Information Service of the National Cancer Institute.)

www.breastcancer.org is a good site. There is a dictionary.
