Maytag Agitator Question

Any suggestions on how to fix or
repair top load washing machine?

Our Maytag Centennial top load washer is about 5 years old.
It has a lower and upper two part agitator with cam & dogs.
Replaced the dogs but it still only agitates in one direction.

Q: Should the bottom and top agitator go back and forth
or does the bottom go one way while the top only agitates?

Don`t want to have to buy newer style
washing machine with water sensors...
 
Did you Google for a solution. I typed "Maytag Centennial agitator" and got a few hits on issues and how to fix them (including YouTube videos).

If I can recommend another website, I've had really good success with the folks at repairclinic.com over the years. Incredibly helpful with diagnosing and fixing problems (and the parts). Our most recent was when my H fixed the impeller on the washer for our rental house. Our tenants have no idea he had never done it before. I bet they can answer your questions and tell you exactly how to fix it. Not associated with them in any way.
