Hi,

We will be at the Mayan Palace in Puerto Vallarta in July and I know that you have to put a credit card on file for "incidentals" and was wondering if each couple can put a credit card on file to charge for meals, drinks etc. and charge it to their room. I know that timeshares aren't set up like a cruise ship  LOL, but wondered what they did in this instance. I guess everyone can just pay as they go, but thought I'd see if anyone had any suggestions.

We will be there for a wedding so want to do this the easiest way. Thanks for any information that you have.

Vicki

I've never been to Mayan palace, but if the room is a lock-off you may be able to do this since they're will be two seperate room numbers.

Thanks, I'm not sure if it's a lock off or not, I'll double check and see i I can find out. I appreciate you responding so quickly.

Each person gets their own room card for paying at the restaurants, etc. Each couple can give a credit card at check in and when you check out, you just tell them which charges go on each card. We have a group of 4 ladies who go to the MP/GM and we each give our own credit card.

If you have a 2 bedroom unit, each couple can have a card on file for charges. One for the hotel unit side and one for the 1-bedroom side. They sometimes assign them by unit # but a lot of times designate -1 or -2 to be added to the 1-bedroom unit number. We do this all the time at the MP, but always keep our reciepts so that we can double check the day before check out.

The MP in PV is a great location :) You should have a great time.

Pittle is absolutely correct. We've done it for years w/ the 2-bedroom units. I always check my charges against my receipts, too, before checkout (like the night before).

Actually, the MP does not allow cash to be used for food and drink as I recall. You can only sign, so be careful to keep track of everything.

This is just what I was going to say, if it's a lock-off it should work nicely!

As stated as a rule Grand Mayan does not accept cash; However if you check out 24 hours prior to departure you can use your credit card and it will not be charged to your room.
