I thought it was 7 for owners in the 2 BR. Is this true? If so, where is this stated for owners? Thanks.

7 only on payment of an extra fee at front desk, I believe $25/day. I aso believe this is waived for an infant or small child.

Check your membership agreement. it's also likely in the members area of royalresortscom, but I don't know where. You can check w live chat on royalresorts.com or email the front desk mgr at RecepcionRS@royalresorts.com.

I'm not sure about the Sands, but it's 6 for the older resorts (2br. units). As the prior poster said you can have 7 (or maybe 8) with permission of thee resort and a fee (for those under a certain age). It is spelled out in the membership agreement, but I don't have the time to look it up right now.

Per the Royal Mayan occupancy policy:
...The Maximum number of occupants generally allowed to utilize a villa is six; four in the master suite and two in the adjoining lock-off bedroom and bath. However, one additional occupant shall be permitted in the master suite, thereby increasing the total number of occupants for the master suite to five and for the entire villa to seven, subject to the following rules: (i) advance notice is required and (ii) if none of the five intended occupants of the master suite is younger than sixteen years of age, a special daily usage fee for the additional occupant must be paid in advance.

Whether this policy is the same for the Sands, I don't know. Based on my stays at the Sands, the rules are rarely or lightly enforced, if enforced at all.

The rules are enforced at the Sands. A number of years ago I rented a lockoff to two women. Unbeknownst to me they brouhht their sons. A maid blew them in. They were charged $50 a day for the two boys. They were angry with me-- I told them the maximum occupancy was 2 when they rented the unit.
