Max Files sizes for "View from the Balcony" thread (or I guess in general)

I'm trying to upload some pictures of the balcony at the Quin from last week, but am getting a notice the files are too large. What is the file size limit for uploads? I also have a little "tour video" of the room I'm hoping to load. But need to figure out file sizes and all.

There used to be issues with large files but I thought @TUGBrian fixed that with a setting on the server. I am not aware of a way to upload videos to the forums. You need to publish them somewhere else, like YouTube, and then share a link to the video here.

I screenshot and crop for my photos. I am not sure what to do about the videos.
 
how large are the videos? i can upload them to youtube for you

Each jpeg is <1.5MB, though I have 10 pics. I can post fewer as some might be a bit redundant.
 
Sometimes my uploading photos works, sometimes parsing error, and sometimes too large to upload. It varies.
 
I believe the size now is 10mb, which is pretty gigantic for a photo.
 
ah ha, so even i can learn new things! who knew!

max file size is 6mb.

however i found a maximum resolution size in xenforo, and it was set to 1200x1200 (which for most purposes is WAY smaller than a 6mb photo would be)

ive removed that resolution limit, so now it truly should allow you to post any 4mb file.
 
I resize my photos before uploading. See the tip from Slip below.
