I just got a last minute trade into Marriott Maui Ocean CLub in a 2 bedroom. I noticed on the confirmation there is no code that confirmations used to have for view categories. Are 2 bedrooms spread throughout the resort with any views or do most have at least an ocean view.

You would find the code in your II account in the History section. It doesn't show up on the confirmation from II. Though you can look the reservation up on Marriott.com (or the app) to see the room details.

Thanks to Dioxide 45 Found the code ZZAC
Now you can check it against this list.

2BR lockoff Garden view (light green below.)
Most face south in Lanai tower looking at the Lahaina Villas parking garage. A few are on low floors facing the pool in Molokai, with a couple back of Maui.

I do not really need the 2 bedroom since there are only 2of us so will see in the next 2 weeks if anything else turns up at any of the Westin or Marriott timeshares in Hawaii. Got nonstop flights on Hawaiian from San Diego for only 10k miles each.
I would hate to think what this years exchanges from my Summit Watch Silver season would cost in points. Locked off my unit from the 1 bedroom got a 2 bedroom at Summit Watch the first week in February and from my studio got this 2 bedroom exchange.

Don't hate to think it, love it!! Weeks are still great. Points are excessively expensive. ("But they are flexible.")

I think that is a great trade and home that you keep it -- bring a friend!

You may want to call and ask room assignments to put you as close to the ocean as possible -- don't worry about floor, you would have a nice view of the ocean from the balcony. Those rooms are some of the hidden gems in the Marriott system.

Congrats on your great usage, that's terrific! Enjoy your trip and spend spend spend, the locals need it.

Best,

Greg

Has anyone stayed here recently and can report on the construction. Just got an email warning of noise and also one of the pools is closed.

Here now. The construction has been paused for the holidays. I am told it will start back up on January 4. But, that doesn’t make any sense because that is a Saturday. They have almost completed the construction on the ocean view and ocean front parts of the lanai wing. Most of those units currently have guests occupying them. However, I can see one lanai that still has a refrigerator on it so I don’t believe that they are completely done.

I was told that they will now be moving to the Molokai wing and startin January. The Electric project seems to have been completed. We’ve seen no evidence of any electric work nor of any generators.

The resort is beautiful and has been wonderful as usual.

Check the vacation club hub and be aware there in construction going on In the old section.
When I was there in November it was in the Lanai tower oceanfront units.
Do call the resort about 2 weeks before travel and make a request (away from construction, best view, etc).

I believe they have completed all of the electrical work (the work that required the noisy generators to run.) They are finishing up the plumbing work, I think, and they are also doing room renovations, which happen section by section so that disruption should be pretty localized.

I just booked this last Saturday so I imagine all rooms were already assigned. Dates worked perfectly as we were planning a trip to somewhere warm the week of Jan 5th. Will probably get the room that the person who cancelled was assigned. Was able to get tickets on the Hawaiian airlines nonstop for only 10k miles on Sunday the 5th, from San Diego, so will miss a day. I did also make reservations on Southwest for the 4th but with the stop would take longer and not arrive till late at night. Using my companion pass on Southwest to fly home on the 11th with a layover as flights on Hawaiian and Alaska had no aisle seats left.

Wound up in a pretty good room location. I was on the 5th floor and 2 rooms away from the oceanfront rooms in the Lanai Tower. It looked like a portion of the Molokai Tower was closed for construction and they were also working on the end Island View rooms on all floors in our tower.
