I am looking to take the family to Maui in March 2027 using MVC points. Looking for opinions on which property TUG folks suggest to book. Of course using points could be a challenge! Thanks

If you've never been before I would recommend Ko Olina as the first option. If doing 2 islands, which I would recommend if going for roughly 2 weeks with my second island being Maui (any of the options there are fine though there are nuance differences). I would not go for just a week from Central US or East coast even if Ilve near a hub. If you've been before it partly depends on your past experiences there.

We have been to the different islands. I agree that two weeks is ideal but because of jobs and schools we're probably looking at a week maybe 8-9 days. We are from the east coast.

9 days is my minimum and I'd do one island though possible 2 sides of the Big Island. It really depends on what you've done, haven't done and seen before in addition to your general preferences. We avoid KBC and otherwise like Oahu, Kauai and Maui. I don't have any BI experience so can't speak to there. Some options don't have a true kitchen if that matters. Do you have exchange options? Have you considered Caribbean as well, especially Aruba?

Maui Ocean Club is one resort built in two phases. The original towers have a kitchenette with apartment sized fridge and an extra bathroom and balcony and the villas in the sequel towers have a full kitchen and a W/D. Generally speaking the OF villas in the original towers have better views but the IV villas in Napili (sequel) have the nicest non-ocean views.

Also, I think MOC is nicer than the Westins…unless you’re staying in a studio.

I’d say a week in Maui Ocean Club and then a few more days down at the Marriott Wailea-not a timeshare but absolutely beautiful and so much fun for all ages…adult infinity pool, regular infinity pool, big tall water slides in another pool area and an area with little ones and play things in the water, multiple jacuzzis, two beach chairs and umbrella set up on Wailea Beach(part of the resort fee), kayaking and paddleborarding rentals, along with free scuba lessons at the resort and snorkel rentals with good snorkeling on both sides of the resort, and the most gorgeous sunsets and excellent restaurants right there and in the surrounding hotels. We also love walking on the oceanfront path that is stunning. Doing time in both of these areas allows you to see more of the island, too. Have a great time no matter what you choose,,and let us know!

I was going to say similar. We think Ko Olina is so underrated. The beaches here, as we are on island now, are so much more peaceful than Maui. We flew over to Maui, for the day, to go whale watching as it is much better over there. Beyond the whales we prefer Oahu.
