Massanutten Mountainside Villas

We've stayed at Woodstone and Summit before, so we're familiar with the resort itself, but going to be staying in Mountainside Villas this year (mid September) and have a few questions based on all I've read.

I spoke to someone there and was told that we could call a week or so before arrival to make any special unit requests, so I'm trying to narrow down what I'm looking for. I've read that there are some units with less stairs (units 1-30) is this true? 1 in our party is older and so we prefer to get one of the units with fewer steps.

Also, I have found out from reviews that some units have a shower in each BA and some only have a shower in the upstairs-any one know if any the 'less stepped' units have 2?

Lastly, Mass website says all units now have free wifi, but someone on here said that that doesn't include MV-can any one confirm this?

Ideally, we'd like a unit with 2 showers, limited steps, and the flat screen-is that even possible?

Who did you speak to that said you could make a request? I have an exchange for next July and called the resort to request a newly refurbished room. They told me I would get the unit that was on my confirmation from RCI, and could not make a request. Thanks, Sue
 
In May, when I checked, Mountainside units did NOT have WiFi in them. Could have changed by now. I'd call the Mountainside part of Mass.

We were just there the last week of July and the Mountainside units do not have wi-fi. You have to go to the Welcome Centre in order to access the (free) wi-fi.

In terms of units with fewer steps, we've previously stayed in unit 47, which had very few steps, so if it's possible for you to request a particular unit, you may also want to consider any of the ones along that row (47 - 50).

You might want to call the resort and ask if the unit you're currently confirmed in meets all of your requirements. Or you could post it here and someone should be able to provide some details. Your confirmation should identify the unit number.

@ susgar - not sure who I spoke to, other than it being a woman. I called a couple weeks ago, prior to booking, and asked about steps and such and she just told me to call before we come.

@ matbec -Sorry to hear there's no WiFi-do they offer a pay option even, or do you just have to go to the welcome center for any internet use? Will def. inquire about units 47-50 when I call. Did y#47 have 2 showers? New tv? (did you enjoy your stay? ;-)

My rental isn't booked directly through RCI, so we don't actually have a unit # on the confirmation to ask about. I was just trying to gather some info before I called in a couple weeks!

The closest thing to a pay-per-use option for internet would be the kiosks they have at the waterpark and at the general store. You might as welll just go to the welcome centre where access is free, and you can also take advantage of the (free) coffee station they usually have set-up in the lobby ;).

We stayed in unit 47 a couple of years ago, and I think it did have two showers. In terms of a new tv, I don't know :shrug:. We stayed there before they started updating the units. And we always enjoy our stay at Massanutten. This year we brought some extended family with us, and it was a treat taking them to our favourite activities (waterpark, mini-golf, real golf, summer tubing, go-karting, etc.). They had a blast!
