Any one has experience staying at this property? Any recommendations?

We love this resort. We have stayed 2X, including this July. It's esp. great if you have 4+ people and need kitchen, space and privacy. There are many photos and review on tripadvisor. It is absolutely adorable. My teens were thrilled to be going back. We only go to Disney 1 day, as there is so much to do. We rented a car in July, but have also done a strictly public transport trip. It's a great base to explore France. We went to Provins (also easy day trip via bus from Chessy station), the newish WWI museum in Meaux, and Fountainebleu. There is a small, but fully stocked grocier at Bailey Romainvillers, a very small town near the M (10 minute, very nice walk) and also a fruit stand, a butcher, and lovely patisserie. We walked or took the car several times to the above. M also has a small store onsite, with basic necessities. M rents bikes, which I didn't get a chance to do.We ask for a unit at the front backing to the Giverny gardens. The local bus picks up right at the M for DLP or Val d'Europe (upscale shopping mall), so you might not need a car for the entire week. M also has a shuttle, 4 euros RT to DLP train station.
With 6 persons, if you are not getting a car at the airport, consider a private transfer for around $150. It's probably about the same or less than the TGV. I would not take the train into Paris and then out to resort upon arrival. If you are from the US, you likely took an overnight flight. That, plus being in a foreign country with luggage just puts a damper on the whole beginning of your trip. (Note-Chessy and Marne la vallee are the same place--at DLP gates).
An all day Moblis pass for our zone was 15 euros, which was also good on all buses, metro in Paris for the day.
without a car-The local bus works great to both DLP and Val d-Europe where our teen loved the big shopping mall.Elaine

It is the most charming of the resorts in which I have stayed. The units are surrounded by green space with ponds and birds, flowers, gardens. The indoor pool is great in off season; the temperature is perfect.

I was not a fan of their shuttle to the train station, but the public bus runs by the resort entrance and that was easy to use.

Note the public bus runs in two directions One way toward the town and the small train station and one way toward Disney and the big train station. the route toward town is really long; the route toward Disney is much shorter and direct.

The walk into the village is only about one long block in the village there is a large store and several small shops.

PS ( not sure if still true) the Marriott shuttle from Disney to the resort is free , the shuttle from the resort to Disney, you pay for at the desk and give ticket to the driver.

We have just been for the second time. Like Elaine we asked for a place in the Monet /Giverney buildings as they are close to the main building and have a beautiful aspect.
We always drive (being from the uk) and i think that is ideal but obviously not totally necessary.

We have also been to Provins which is a very quaint little village and once each year (sometime in June i think) they have a fair where all the local dress up in ancient clothes, there is sword fighting demos, hog roasts etc - all makes for a fab day out but it gets very busy.

Reims for a Champagne tour is 45 mins away. We went to the Tattinger house which was very informative bu there are many others to choose from eg Mumm, Lanson and the town is nice too.

paris is 20 mins by train and very easy to do. Park the car in Val d'Europe and as long as you are back by 9pm it is free.
We also went to Versailles this year which is a absolute must do. We were advised not to drive as you can get caught in rush hour traffic, so we took the train to Paris, two changes and we were there in about an hour. This takes at least a full day. Youcould spend several days in the gardens alone. The fountains only work at wekends though.
We tried to hire the Marriott bikes but they were all broken. Very disappointed, concierge said that they were brand new that year but they were treated badly.
Also as mentioned Val d'Europe is only a 5 minute car journey and has a designer outlet village plus a range of other shops including a massive Auchan (supermarket), there is lots of cheese, wine and food and prices here are the lowest in the area.
The weather is like ours and a bit unprdictable but when nice you can lie on the sunbeds by the pool which are four posters and a great luxury.
All round a lovely resort though and well worth a visit.

Last time we stayed there was 9 years ago. Lovely resort! We had a rental car and drove all over visiting castles, and lovely villages and towns, including Normandy. The grocery store at the mall is fantastic! Stayed at this resort for 3 weeks and enjoyed every second. :)

renovations?

Have they renovated yet? The units were neat when we were there several years ago, but they were starting to show their age.

1) Go if you can - the villas are incredibly spacious, the resort is beautiful, the staff was great, and the location is great for exploring Disney, Paris, and North Eastern France. We were there this summer and LOVED it. I'm very much a city person - particularly when travelling - but the next time we see Paris with our kids we'll try to stay here again.

2) Your mileage may vary, but we found renting a car to be the right choice. We came in via Eurostar and left via CDG and renting a car and parking at Disney (on our 'park' days) was about the same price and much more convenient than paying for transfers and shuttles. That said, even with a car take the train into Paris.

Since you mention the kitchen, did you see a close by store where you can get breakfast and/or snack type food?

Just saw the response to this in Bill's post. Thanks.

Agree that the larger grocery store at the mall is fantastic. But the smaller one around the corner from the M and walkable is what we used for our most recent stay. It had everything we needed, esp. 2 euro frozen escargot--we ate 6 dozen!

Thanks. I'll try the escargot...

One thing about the resort which a few people may consider a negative. The 2 bd units are all two story. So the kitchen, living and dining rooms are downstairs. The bedrooms are up stairs. Also unlike most MVC resorts which have a big master bath suite the bathrooms are very basic.

Also the dryer needs significant instructions on it use

How about the 3 BR? I am traveling with my family which includes a teenage girl and pre teen boy. They need separate rooms.

There are some units (maybe HA) that have a bedroom/bathroom downstairs. I emailed asking for a unit near the front so that my mother did not have to walk too far and they gave us that unit. So, I would imagine if stairs are an issue that you could ask for one. There are 3 BRs, I just don't know if they come up for trading in. You can certainly reserve them for cash or M points.

The 3rd bd in a 3 bd unit is a downstairs lock-off . So it can be a studio or the 3rd bedroom, It is a big studio

Has anyone ever stayed in a studio there? I have been there 4 times but always in a 2 bedroom villa. My son and his wife are going to Paris (and other cities in Europe) in May and I gave them 3 nights there in a studio using DP. Felt like a 2 bedroom was an overkill for 2 young people. Can't remember if there is a laundry facility where they could do laundry.

My DD and I are going to London in May, staying 2 days and then taking the Chunnel to Disney Paris. We will be going into Paris via train for a couple of days and then stay in Paris proper for our last 2 nights. Is there a place nearby the resort to rent a car? I really don't want to do that in Paris and have to drive out. We would rather arrive and maybe rent a car for 3 days to see the local countryside before returning to Paris to stay and then leave from CDG.

Take the train from Paris to Disney (Marne La Vallee) and there is a Sixt, Avis, Hertz and Budget at the station. The Marriott is a ten minute (if that) drive from the station via quiet, well maintained roads. If you're new to driving in France then it is a relatively gentle introduction and far better than picking up a car in Paris.

Two days in London though? Without a second thought I would sacrifice Disney for more time in London. If you've never been to DLP it's a shadow of its US cousins and really not worth visiting (IMO), if you have then why are you going again! o_O

We did (almost) exactly that. A few days in London, Eurostar to Marne La Vallee where we picked up a rental car at the train station, then we stayed at the Village d'lle-de-France and did 2 days at Disneyland Paris and 2 days of sightseeing then left from CDG. A few words of advice...

Depending on what month in which you are travelling there may not be a direct train to Marne La Vallee on Tuesday and Thursday so plan accordingly. Also, Eurostar tickets are cheaper the earlier you book. Disneyland Paris should really be a one day visit. There are a bunch of attractions which are interesting to see from a non-American perspective (e.g. Small World, Haunted Mansion) and Ratatouille is worth the walk over to Parc WD Studios all by itself. Particularly since Remy is the only place on property worth eating at (make your reservation early). There is a convenient train into Paris from the Marne La Vallee station...but that doesn't matter if you are going to Paris afterward. Most importantly, be aware that each terminal at CDG has it's own rental car return and the CDG signs offer no help whatsoever. And lastly, we LOVED the Village d'lle-de-France. We are city people...but given the size and price of Paris hotel rooms the next time we visit Paris with kids we will try to stay here even if we never set foot in Disneyland Paris.

PS. The dining recommendation isn't a snob thing...I've happily eaten at amusement parks, museums, and national parks all over the US and the world. But the food at Disneyland Paris is quite simply ghastly. I had read the reviews and thought, "How bad can it be?" Sadly, we found out the answer the hard way.

I agree however the food at Parc Asterix takes it to another level. Quite possibly the worst food I've ever eaten, I was shocked how bad it was considering we were in France. I now know why so many people had taken their own packed lunches.

Thanks everyone. We will be staying 2 days in London to check out just a few things we missed on previous trips. Then the train on Monday to the Disney train Station. Now we'll rent a car for few days to see the country side while staying at the timeshare. Then back to Paris for the last 2 days. This all started with "I want to go to Paris". Then we found airfare for $500 roundtrip out of Newark, NJ. We will not be visiting Disney.

Sounds like a great plan! Do you mind if I ask when the trip is planned for (what month, assume this year)? Roundtrip airfare NJ to Paris for 500 does sound hard to pass up (unfortunately, we have a daughter in High School, have to follow school calendar)!

We did similar trip last June to the Ville d'France and a 5 night stay in London and thoroughly enjoyed it! We did a lot of research here on TUG beforehand and agree with most of whats been advised...We did NOT go to Disney, saw it from the gates, on our train rides to Paris...we did NOT stay in Paris for this trip, nor did we rent a car to tour the countryside. We do plan to do both (not Disney, meant stay in Paris and rent a car to tour the various chateaus and villages that are driveable from Marne-la-Vallee) on a future trip.

Good luck to all the posters here who plan to visit Ville d'France; we loved our stay there, found the staff wonderful and accommodating, the activities we had time for there were worth the time spent and fees, and resort itself was both beautiful and charming!

We're heading out in early May. At some point the fare fell even lower to $409 but we're thrilled with the fare we booked.

We will be visiting for the first time this June. Staying a week here in a 2br and 2 or 3 nights in a hotel in Paris. Three adults- teenage dd is the 3rd.
- Can any one recommend a hotel? Staying on Marriott rewards points so that limits somewhat. Any thought on whether having lounge access is a real plus? I have found that option available.
- Any advice on what to see while staying in Paris proper vs. from the TS? We'll take the train in to Paris 3 or 4 days.
- As far as room request at the TS I have seen many say to request a view of the lake? We can walk easily. Prefer quiet.
Thanks for the advice!
