Greetings all. Once again I reach out to the forum as we are about to embark on a vacation to a new and exciting location. Being that it is Spring Break we were only able to get a one bedroom. Not really a big deal for this trip. A do have a few questions to ask.

When booking I saw the warning about ongoing construction at the property. Then the next day I received an email regarding the same topic. Is this really a big issue and does anybody know if there are certain building to try and avoid?

I am also looking into a ski school for my kiddo. Any recommendations? She is a good intermediate skier but we always put her in school when we go to a new mountain.

Also, interested in a snowmobile excursion. Has anyone done one out there?

Thank you.

Here is the beat info on conteuction. Looks like roof updates: https://hub.vacationclub.com/properties/marriotts-timber-lodge/

As for ski school, (unless you are going to another mountain), Heavenly has a great ski school. (Nothing there is cheap especially if you didn't buy season passes, which you break even on in about 3 days.)

You can sign up online or across from the gondola. Ski school will be at top of Gondola but depending on age may check in at the bottom.

What week is your spring break when you will be at Timber Lodge?
If its late March / early April, there might not be enough snow for snowmobiling.
There wasn't much snow this year so far, though it just dumped a bunch last week.
Heavenly is good but expensive.
If you're willing to drive for like 20 min Sierra At Tahoe has a really good program and a lot cheaper.

We are heading out March 14th. Hopefully there will be some some snow, fingers crossed.

The kids have had varying experiences with Ski Schools in the past. Taos was good but they felt like they couldn't ask the instructor any questions. Which I felt was odd.
They really enjoyed the experience in Park City. Couldn't get them off the mountain after class. So, I try to do as much homework on what is available before we travel.
I am willing to drive that is not a problem. That is what is great about this forum. This is where my pre-trip homework starts.

I have gone down the YouTube rabbit hole in trying to learn more about Timber Lodge and the surrounding area. Seems interesting. Most videos I came across were a couple of years old so don't know if that will be a factor.

I think I have decided that I will at least do a snowmobile tour with the kiddo. Wife has no interest when it comes to snowmobiles. I grew up on them but have not ridden in about 20 years.

Never did the snowmobile thing. But the ski school is right there. I don't ski, but everyone else does. We bought ski passes years ago and just add. I sit by the fireplace and read. My experience overall with construction warnings is an overabundance of caution on their part.

I agree about the warnings. I try to get as much information pre travel that I can. This forum has always been a good resource to check with. Found it many years ago when it was still a pay forum. Was happy to pay given all the information you get from it.
