Has anyone been to this resort? There are no reviews on TUG. My daughter and friends plan a ski trip there in January but would like to see some reviews first.

Thank you.

I was there a long time ago. It's a small resort, well located, not many thinks to do at the resort but lots of thinks to do around. I think Evergreen and Douglas are the best, Birch not that good (near the highway). Evergreen is dedicated 2bd, spacious. They won't be disapointed.

Thank you both for responding. I'll check out trip advisor.

It was surprising not to see any reviews on TUG.

We stayed at evergreen last ski season. Very Nice. Shuutle runs all day long. 2 min to Vail. Can rent equip right at the resort if needed. Reasonable prices. No resaurant or marketplace or any thing like that, but not need. Vail Village has everything needed.

I'll be there this week.

I'll write a report when I return.

For a ski location, it has everything you'd want right there -- nice rooms and hot tubs. The resort is about 2 miles from Vail village central but runs a handy shuttle for skiing. Parking for skiing would be a hassle and the shuttle is convenient.

The resort is not really up to the same standards as other Marriott Vacation Clubs but is fine for the limited accommodations in Vail. Our exchange was to the Birch building which I would even consider again for ski accommodations.

Thanks again everyone.

I look forward to the review on Evergreen after your October stay.

For SMB, could you tell me which view, floor, etc. request I should make at Evergreen?

Corky,

There are five stream side resorts in the same complex sharing the same amenity. We were there this January and stayed at Cedar. I submitted a review. You might want to check all the other resorts too.

I think Cedar is the worst one in terms of the room and the location. But I would not mind staying there again.

Jane

Hi Jane,

Is your review on TUG?

My reservation is for Evergreen at Streamside, the newest building but not one recently remodeled.

I don't remember the Evergreen building being more than 4 stories high. There is not much of a view, as you're in a forested area, but one of the views would be a parking lot.

In ski areas, I always request top floor, because people traipse through the halls in their ski boots. The building is also fairly close to the I-70, which can give you some in-room noise if you have the windows open.

Evergreen has three views, Parking Lot, Mountain Side and Stream Side.

Mountain Side is basically just looking into the trees of the hill right behind the building. Stream Side has a view of the stream and I-70 and the mountains in the distance.

We were on the fourth floor. The entrance from the parking lot comes into a split entry to the third and fourth floors. There is a parking garage underneath the building with an elevator to all floors.

All of Evergreen was recently remodeled

To the best of my knowledge, ALL of Evergreen was remodeled in the last couple of years. At least they better have because I paid the assessment.

I have owned there for several years but only been there once in the summer. I'd love to go back, and I think the winter ski setup would be ideal because you don't have to drive or even park your car in the snow.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the Evergreen Building is the only one of the five buildings in the complex that has an elevator.

If you stay in the other four then you have to hike the stairways:bawl:

This si accurate. And none of the views are great. I had streamside. I'd think it is the best, but again nothing special that you'd be missing if you receive another view.

New Streamside Evergreen review

This helpful person, want2ctheworkd, has a recent review on Tripadvisor.

http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUser...reamSide_Evergreen_at_Vail-Vail_Colorado.html

The best thing about it is the photos they've included. I'd like to think this person is a TUGGer because the review is so thorough and useful.

I love it when Tripadvisor reviews include photos because they are so pertinent. Sure I can see nice looking rooms on the hotel's website, but am I guaranteed to get one of those? Tripadvisor photos show us the real deal.
I wish it was easier to upload photos to the TUG review pages.

I really appreciate all the feedback, and will definitely ask for a streamside view, top floor. It's only a "request" never a guarantee but . . . worth a try.

On to the trip advisor review and photos.

Has anyone been there in the summer, late June or early July? I see some availability there as a getaway on II website. A friend of mine wants to go and I was going to get the week for her (and a guest certificate). I always brag about the Marriott timeshares we have and what wonderful vacations we have had. I would get the getaway week for her in a heartbeat but my concern is that this resort has no A/C. I would hate to send her there and then it is too hot with no A/C. That sure would leave really bad impression on her!

Not accurate. I know I used an elevator multiple times when I stayed in the Birch building. I would also be surprised if the Douglas building did not have an elevator.

We were in the Douglas building in February and there was indeed an elevator.

I agree with other comments, it's a nice resort, with great shuttle service to Vail Village and Lionshead. No additional amenities at the resort, but everything you need is a shuttle ride away.

We were more than satisfied with our Douglas room.

The Evergreen building is different than the others.
It was the last to be built and I think Marriott either built it or took it over at a very early stage.
It has completely different architecture and is much nicer both inside and out.
The others were not originally built by Marriott and are not of the same standards as mentioned by the post above.

I have a summer week in the Evergreen building, and have used it on several occasions. We love the summer there as it's a great get away from the heat of the plains where we live. There are plenty of activities from biking and hiking to fishing and rafting.

There is no A/C but the temps are cool enough we lived very comfortably with the windows open letting in that great mountain air. It would have to be in the middle of an atypical heat wave to be uncomfortable. We normally go over the July 4 week and are fine.
