This was posted over on DISBoards. The Orlando World Center Marriott hotel has instituted a reservation system for Marriott's Sabal, Royal and Imperial Palms guests to use their new River Falls Waterpark. Current reservation fee of $20 per guest per day for up to six guests. Reservations can currently be made online up to three weeks in advance. It would be great if this system goes away at some point like they did with the Slide Tower about 10 years ago.

Hey, that's not too bad. That's cheaper than I would have expected.

Thanks for posting!

My family is staying at Sabal Palms the first week in August, so this is perfect timing! Thank you so much for sharing this. :)

$20 per villa per day is a reasonable fee. Some resort fees are higher than that without any similar amenities like a water park.

Its actually $20 per person a day with a max of 6 people per reservation.
Ouch, you are right. I updated my post. Seems to be in line with what Westgate charges for their new waterpark at Westgate Lakes for non resort guests.

Oof.....and we won't be doing that.

Oof is right-
Considering the cost of a full day waterpark ticket is about $60 bucks for an adult - I don’t know If I spent it on a hotel complex it would have to be really nice

O yeah. $20/pp is not nearly as good of an offer.

Though maybe not totally unreasonable. I just returned from a trip to South Dakota and we stayed at both the Fairfield Inn and Residence Inn with the Watiki Indoor Water park attached to the FFI and the single day admission for hotel guests staying there was $25/pp. (It was even more for non hotel guests.) It looked kinda neat, but nothing spectacular for that price and we were too busy visiting all the National Park sites in the area and never went.

I am surprised they are allowing the Palms guests at all since it has very limited capacity. The Royal Palms front desk told me a few months ago that it would be off limits for MVC guests. I guess the World Center Resort guests must not be using it as much as anticipated. I don't think $20 per person is that bad compared to the $45 per day that the JW Desert Ridge in Phoenix is charging for the lounge chairs at their reserved pool to their own guests who already pay the daily resort fee.

From what I understand the waterpark hasn't been all that busy thus why they probably opened it up for a fee. The slide tower initially opened up for a fee to Palms guests though it was only $10 per villa per day. I wonder if at some point the water park will be included for Palms guests, this may require a light negotiation of the use agreement between the timeshare properties and the hotels. Even if they increased that by $10 per ownership week the hotel would probably come out way ahead than they are now with the a-la-cart fee.

The resort fee for the hotel is $42 a night.

I didn't even know they were adding a water park (I hope this isn't just the existing slide that they are charging for....) We loved the pool complex when we were there in 2013 and again in 2018 and the pool complex was a huge selling point for us. Thanks for posting this!

Best,

Greg

was looking for photos/videos as we have never stayed there before

the earliest a quick search showed was Sept 21-
Would that be accurate timeframe to what it is now after the renovation?

Not sure what you mean, but I think the waterpark opened in March 2022.

Access to the original World Center pool and slide tower has not changed and is still no cost for Palms guests.

When I did a YouTube search JW Marriott Orlando water park most of the videos were from 2021- was not sure if those were pre or post any type of changes -

thanks that is exactly what I needed to see to make a decision for my family as far value goes - Nope not our thing at all, while it’s probably might be worth it for the under 10 year old set - the group we travel with would be highly disappointed for $20 a head…

It looks like Tim Tracker has a video from the new waterpark. I found the part where they got past their yammering and using the old slides and this should start up when they move over to the new waterpark;

The JW Marriott at Grande Lakes is also apparently building a waterpark. Lakeshore Reserve guests will be blocked out of using the pools and waterpark at the JW starting in August unless they pay a similar fee ($50 per villa per day up to 4 guests)

I recognize I'm bumping an old thread here, but does anyone know if this is still the policy? I'm looking at cash-booking (through the Marriott website) a stay at Royal Palms next Easter and trying to figure out what we will get access to at World Center. Is the lazy river part of the water park and an upcharge, or is it available without paying? (My kids won't do waterslides but will do a lazy river). Thanks in advance!

The lazy River is part of the water park and you need to make a reservation online when you are there to get in- if available. $20 per person per day.
When we were there in April it was book for almost the whole week.
