4 Resorts In Cocoa Beach, FL
We just booked an II getaway at Royal Palm for the end of this month. I could not find any recent reviews of this resort. Are the two bdrm units small? We will be a party of 6 including 3 children. This will be the children's first visit to Disney (ages 6, 4, 2). Since the weekend is during Halloween, it was very difficult finding a Marriott because the parents are only off from their jobs beginning the last weekend in October. I wanted a different resort, but with the time being so close, I snatched this resort only because of the date available and because I was tired of searching morning, noon and night.

What buildings should we request? I am pretty familiar with the Orlando area. We are at Marriott's Grand Vista now using an AC for this stay. I did read that Royal Palm guests have access to the Orlando World Center. Which activities would be best for the children when they are not at Disney?
Thanks so much for your help.

The units are typical Marriott. 6 with 3 kids should be doable.

Regarding building/unit we prefer unit 4268 (and that building) as it is close to the pool, grills, clubhouse, and shuttle to the World Center. Check the resort map here:

The World Center pool area is huge, a mammoth facility for your kids. Your kids are probably too young for these, but I'll toss them out for others who may read this.

1. Take a paddle down the Shingle Creek
2. Take an airboat ride with Spirit of the Swamp.

Google will find these activities for you.

We like the peace and quiet of Royal Palms. Enjoy.

We visited Royal Palms in May. I posted some photos to the Marriott Resort Photos/Videos Thread

I believe the maximum capacity of these units is only 6. Two in the master which has a king, two in the second bedroom where there is only a queen and then two on the sofa bed in the living room. As long as an adult is okay sleeping with a child and the other two children sharing a bed, then sleeping arrangements should be doable. Not ideal IMO.

We stayed in unit 4168 and thought it was pretty close to the clubhouse and pools. We did go to the World Center which has a create pool and the wonderfully fun slide tower. They no longer charge Palms guests to use the slide tower. I am not sure a villa request is really important at Royal. It is a fairly small resort, but some of the outer buildings may make for a longer walk to the clubhouse and shuttle.

Thanks so much for the postings. We will be a party of 6, three adults and three children. It will probably be best for us to stay close to the club house and children's activities. Should we only take the shuttle to the World Center? Is parking over there a problem?

Btw, I just read somewhere that the units are dated. Have any of the buildings been renovated? I'm not wanting to stay in a resort with dated furnishings. Since this is an II getaway, there are no refunds.

Thanks for the photos.

There is a charge to park at the world center, but all 3 Palms resorts share a free shuttle that will take you between the palms or to the world center. My kids thought the shuttle ride (sometimes a golf cart, sometimes a van) was great!

The units are not dated. They have all undergone refurbishments fairly recently. Take a look at the photos I posted in the link above. The units are in pretty good shape.

I appreciate your updates. This really helps us to plan accordingly.
