I am an owner (Weekly, not points) at Marriott Beachplace Towers. At the 12 month mark I went to book an Sat-Sat stay but only Fri-Fr and Sun-Sun was available. I phoned up MVC and asked if I could get on a waitlist if the Sat-Sat opened up and was told that only point owners could get on a waitlist And my only hope to get it would be to phone up daily and then it would cost me cost me $45 which is not the end of the world. I am just so used to my Disney points where I can just look on line to see if there is availability without phoning up. I can’t see why MVC can’t adopt this tool

There has never been a waitlist for weeks- only for points.

I do wish you could continue to check availability online after booking and not have to call.

There is also no method online to cancel or modify a weeks based reservation. Thus the need for a phone call.

The biggest issue is that once you have booked your week, you can no longer see availability. If you can see availability online, you can then cancel and rebook on your own without a need to call. MVC website sucks.

And even if you could not cancel and rebook online, you would know whether to call or not. Apologies to dioxide, but another "fix" that first year college CS majors could do in a day or two.

Could you book one of the weeks and then exchange thru II, requesting only a Sat-Sat week? You need to call.

At least now the system allows you to cancel online but then that week may not show up in the system for another 3 to 4 days for you to use it to rebook.

Given this multi-day delay with the week showing back up as available to book, I think there are more fundamental infrastructure issues that prevent a simple fix within the MVC website. If it was just a day or two effort, wouldn't they have fixed an issue that goes back 20 years? The think the fundamental issue is the integration with the MARSHA system that Marriott International uses. They can't re-write that in a day.
