Probably more than buying one at Walmart

That's why I'm asking. I can actually buy a very nice one at Sam's Club for $29, and I'd just pack it over there as luggage. Just wanted to find out the actual cost. I'll be there 2 weeks.

Cost to bring .vs. abandon

"...Sam's Club for $29, and I'd just pack it over there as luggage"

With some airlines charging $25/each way, paying for one at home and checking it as luggage makes it more expensive that just buying one in Kaua'i at WalMart, K-Mart or Costco (Kauai has all three) and just abandoning it at the resort when you leave.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's where a lot of the rental beach chairs are acquired anyway.

Anyway from Yelp it appears that chairs might be fee at the Waiohai -> http://www.yelp.com/biz/marriotts-waiohai-beach-club-kauai#hrid:w94kMvS0CGslPSn_xmzAcA

We always buy ours at Kmart for about $10 and pass it on to one of the locals when we leave.

Luckily I'm a Gold Medallion on Delta, so I'd have no luggage fees associated with checking them in as luggage over there. And I'm sure they aren't free...I was there back in 2009 and rented a couple. But for the life of me I can't recall how much I paid for them ! :)

Are you talking about chairs to take off premises? If so, find housekeeping and take some others have left behind. That's what I do. But, if you are talking of chairs to use at Waiohai, there is no charge! :hi:

Ok - then something must have changed, because I've stayed there 4 times in the past 10 years and they never had free 'beach chairs' when I was there.

They had reclining chaise lounger chairs available around the pools, and in the green areas, but you're not allowed to take those out on the beach.
