Hi, My husband and I pulled the trigger on MVC points deal in Hawaii and now have major buyers remorse. Thankfully we're in the 10 day window to rescind. I found where we need to send it (Fax, Mail, and Email) and I printed out the documents to rescind and even wrote a letter but my concern is that the documents that were given to us via a flash drive all have big letters over them saying COPY. I'm worried we can't use these documents to rescind and I need the original? I've left the island already so I won't be able to walk up to the place where we signed everything and retrieve an original. Does anyone know if sending a document signed by both my husband and I that says COPY over it will be accepted? Thank you for the help!

Doesn’t matter if it’s a copy or original or whatever. You don’t have to include the contract. Literally all you need is:

We wish to rescind contract #XXX signed XXX.

Sincerely,
Signatures of anyone who signed the contract

Just make sure send it to the correct place as specified in the contract by the recession date and keep proof.

Send it via USPS and use CERTIFIED MAIL . Retain copies of the USPS receipt as well as all the rescission paperwork. Any buyer who signed the original documents should also sign the rescission paperwork.

Good move to rescind. Consider looking at resale weeks and save yourself a whole bunch of $$$$$$$. Weeks don't have the flexibility of points but they are substantially less to purchase and maintain (versus points).

Welcome to TUG and best of luck!

So one problem, I don't see a contract number on any of the paperwork. On the USB Drive they provided, there is a folder that is just a number with all the contract files in it, do I assume that is the contact number? On the paperwork the only numbers listed are the Beneficial Interest numbers 16 of them for the 4000 points we purchased.

When sending, including the first page and signature page of the contract is really all that is, at most, needed. It won't matter if they have a "COPY" watermark on them. You could include that number from the folder on the USB drive and/or also include he beneficial interest numbers, but that last one probably isn't necessary. If you include your name, address and signature page, they can look up your contract to cancel it.

Hi! I was going to do all forms of cancellations communication: email, mail, and fax. I did email first since it’s so convenient and was going to go to the post office later today. I did receive this back via email. Would you say that’s sufficient or should I still mail certified mail in as well?

As long as email in is listed in your contract as an option and with this reply, you should be covered.

I need to rescind my recent purchase today. Where do you find this in a contract? I have so many forms and contracts and they are on a jump drive, so I need to find it. I sent and email this morning regarding our cancellation request for a purchase last Friday.

You probably need to look through every page.
