Hi All. I'm new to this forum. Seeking advice from anyone will to share. I purchased the 1,500 point package with Marriott Vacation Club (MVC) in 2023. We have fully paid the ~$25k for the membership. We didn't explore MVC much during 2024 because we were carrying over our 1,500 points to 2025 to hopefully get a "higher end" property for our family vacation. During 2024, we did look at using MVC and Interval from some quick trips (3-5 days), but there was never much available that suited our taste. So we have concluded that purchasing the MVC membership was a bad mistake, and we just want to get out of it now and cut our losses. I sent a request to exit to the MVC Exit team today. They say they will respond in 5 days with options.

Question: Has anyone been in a similar situation as I'm now in? Is there any chance of my getting out of this IF i get a response from the MVC exit team?

I highly suspect MVC Exit Team will agree to take back the points. The thing is, they won't give you anything for it. The $25K would be gone. Though it was pretty much gone when the 10-day rescission period past after you bought it in 2023.

MVC will pay you $0 when you return your $25,000 purchase. You can probably sell them for about $4,500 on the open market, but that would be a waste of $20,000+.

You've spent the money you may as well learn the system and amortize the expense over the years. Sounds like you have 3,000 points to use this year. You could also borrow from 2026 and have 4,500. There are lots of great places you could go with those points. Here are the points charts.

Tell us where you are and what destinations you thought of when you decided to spend $25K. People can offer some thoughts about destinations.

An alternative would be to learn the system and play the game well as the money you've spend is mostly gone anyway. But to do much you'd still need more points which you could rent to be transferred if needed.

You'd be far better off renting your points to help cover your expenses rather than flushing $25K down the toilet...... Use website below:

Best of luck.
