Does anybody know what the deal is at the Maui Marriott to preview the hotel. I thought I read something like $599 for 5 nights and car rental. Also if anybody knows what room type this is.
Thanks Karen

Stayed there for 6 nights in Jan. Great deal! I got 5 nights +5000 AA miles in a 1BR 2 BA 5th floor OCEAN FRONT Room in the Molokai tower. The price was $699 which included a small rental car, which I upgraded to fit my family ( myself, wife, and 3 kids). After upgrading and purchasing 2 more days, there was not much of a savings vs just renting it ourselves for a week. Very easy going sales presentation. The first night I purchased the same room for $459 + tax for a total of 6 nights. They left us in the same room, so I think it helped that I paid for the most expensive room for the first night. Although, they did not guarantee me that we would not have to change rooms.

Sometimes I wonder if it is worth owning a timeshare when I can easily go places on preview deals.

How did you get the package? We are owners at another Marriott and are trying to refer some friends.

I thought I read somewhere which stated there is a lifetime 3 preview limit. Nonetheless you got a great deal!

I was solicited by mail through American airlines.

Yes, I am limited to 3 deals per lifetime with Marriott, but I can still preview with other companies.

The Vistana resort in Orlando gave us a great deal a couple of years ago too.

I've done this deal now twice at Ko'Olina. It's something like 5 nights plus a car plus a $50 certificate plus 5000 FF miles for $599 or $699 (I forget the exact price). It was an awesome dead and both times I did it I wasn't required and I didn't do the TS presentation. It's for the lockoff portion of the room, but both times I requested an upgrade to a 1 bedroom prior to arriving and they instantly accommodated me both times over the phone.

I'm not really sure why Marriott sent me those deals as I was already an owner, but I'm not complaining. Also, the second deal they sent me was actually for Maui, but I asked if they could switch it to Ko'Olina and they told me I could switch it to any of their Marriott properties in Hawaii that were lock-off's.

It's a great deal that I wouldn't pass up if you get it in the mail. It requires I think a $200 non-refundable deposit, but you have a year to book your time.

If you go to the Marriott International website, there's an area where you can refer friends for promos.

Did you have to pay a fee for the upgrade...or did they just like the sound of your voice????

Beware!

Check out the fine print! It states that Marriott Vacation Club Owners are excluded. Not sure how diligent they are but thought I'd mention it.

Sorry Dave, I did't mean to violate any rules. Someone from TUG referred me for the promo 4 years ago and since then I have referred others. I receive NO compensation for referring people for the Maui promo nor do I receive anything if they choose to attend the optional presentation. I would receive points only if someone purchased there (which I did not solicit).
