We recently moved away from Park City and we're looking at getting a vacation rental we could use and to AirBnB, but due to the economy we just walked away from the idea and a lot of earnest money. In the end I didn't think it would break even for us and the hassle wasn't worth it, but the emotional thought of having a place in Park City was worth the financial hit. In this time of uncertainty I've come back to the idea of looking at vacation rental with Marriott Summit Watch being the best place due to its closeness to main street.
We are a family of four needing a 2bedroom. We don't need to trade anywhere as in-laws have Vistana vacation club that they will likely be using less of over the next few years.
Our dealbreaker dates there would be
* 10 days during Sundance Friday through Sunday of the following weekend; basically Week 4 + the next weekend.
* If that means we need two weeks that's fine if it's ok to rent remaining days
* 5225 points for 7 days and 1800 for a weekend for info during that window.
Next up would be the "really want to have dates" during summer
* 7 days in July around or after 4th of July
Lastly would be our "cool if we get it" dates. Meaning if we got the flexibility to do this, great, if not no big as we can rent.
* 4 day weekend in late March
* 4 day weekend in late August
I assume getting these dates on reservation is going to be a challenge since and would require the 13month out booking if not even more than 13 months + a few weeks of sequential rentals to land that last week being Sundance. So I wouldn't mind considering buying a few extra weeks prior to my desired dates if it allows to book for Sundance - that is assuming I could rent them out..
Would love peoples thoughts and direction on how to get this.
