We are taking my daughter and her family with us to Vail for a short get away. This is not the resort I would choose if it were just my husband and myself. However, we will have grandkids with us, and there is a lot to keep them occupied. Plus, the area is really beautiful.

We have a chance to get two-two bedrooms in Evergreen bldg. or two bedrooms and a loft in Douglas. I know the Evergreen units would give us more privacy, but it is also substantially more expensive.

There will be plenty of room for everyone in the Douglas bldg.---1300 sq. ft.
We all get along very well.

Could you share your opinions about the pros and cons of each? I have looked at reviews and I really can't tell.

Thanks.

Never stayed there but have talked to the front desk people and they say Evergreen is the nicest of any of the buildings. No idea how the unit size or sleeping arrangement compares between the buildings.

I own at Birch at Streamside, and I consider the Douglas building as second best after Evergreen. I have never stayed at either Douglas or Evergreen, so I can't judge from personal experience. I've seen the inside of Douglas, and it is fairly nice, and I think they have had a refurnishment after I saw it.

We were at the Cedar building for spring vacation in a large 1 bedroom with loft unit, which was really pretty nice. The kitchen and some furniture was a bit dated, but overall it was a very nice unit. The only drawback to Cedar is that there can be a lot of stairs to climb with no elevator.

I am not sure if Douglas has an elevator - but you could find out from the resort.

My opinion is that Douglas would be an acceptable choice (for me), but I don't know what your standards are. If you expect a Marriott up to par with the best of the Marriotts, you will probably be disappointed.

I have been there a long time ago, 1bd Birch and 2bd Evegreen.

The Evergreen was great, but I think it used to have 2 twins on the second bedroom, not sure about that. Anyway, spacious.

You might want to check the reviews on Trip Advisor. They have a lot more on most resorts than TUG.
