Marriott Shadow Ridge or Westin Mission Hills - Water Slide ?

Hello Tuggers,

Just returned from Waiohai, so now it is time to plan the next family vacation.
By the way, thank you for all the tips!!! Super Fabulous trip!

I am trying to decide which resort is better, basically based on the pool area and water slide...Marriott Shadow Ridge or Westin Mission Hills, Rancho Mirage.

Boys are 9 & 11, the one with the most pool fun and best slide will be the decision maker.

I tried looking at the online pictures but couldn't get full views of the slides.

Thank you for your suggestions.
 
I can only speak for Shadow Ridge. The water slide and main pool are a highlight of the resort. Very family friendly. The Maze activity center is close by. Exchange into the Villages section. The units are larger and more family friendly.

I think they are both very nice resorts. We also own at ShadowRidge & think that it is a great resort for kids. The maze center is amazing. They have movies at night at the pool, and lots to do. Lots & lots of kids. Never stayed at Mission Hills Rancho Mirage, but it looks nice, too.

I suggest clicking on the photos link for both resorts on tripadvisor.com (they're on the upper right) I usually find that looking at a lot of photos that people have taken give me a better feel for the units, the ambiance. You learn a lot reading the tripadvisor reviews, too!

Westin at Rancho Mirage has a slide and also access to the Westin hotel which also has a slide and they are fun. I do not know how they compare to the Shadow Ridge. However, with the age of your boys, they might be far more interested in going to the water park in Palm Desert for a day - they have some serious slides!! If you are going between now and September, check the II getaways for cheap prices. Funtime
 
And for variety, there's Soak City in Palm Springs.
