HI all,
I need to pick your brain on this one. Both our names are on our Marriott timeshare ownership (we have a combination of Marriott weeks, Vistana flex points, and a week on Vistana side). We are at Executive Level with our timeshare ownership so have Platinum Elite status on the hotel side. We both have had our own American Express Brilliant cards which gives the owner of the card Platinum Elite status. We were grandfathered in one year at the $450 yearly rate, and last year decided to hold on to both cards at $650 each. We are trying to decide if we need both need the card as mine is up for renewal now. So, if I give up my AMEX Brilliant card and get one as an additional user under my husband, if my name is on the timeshare as well (it is the primary name), will I get platinum status through that even if I give up my credit card and similarly if I am a user under my husband's card do I get platinum status? Thinking of ditching the other card. Held on to it for the free certificate and the dining credit.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
