At the last three Marriott's that I've stayed at (Waiohai, Newport Coast, and Grand Chateau), I was sent a pdf file of my folio (bill). In 3 out of three cases I was unable to open it. I open lots of pdf file on my home computer, my laptop and my cellphone. But each time I get a PDF from Marriott it fails to open.

Has anyone had this problem and found a way to overcome it? I suspect that Marriott is not sending a true pdf and is at fault. But that is just a guess. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure. I was just able to open a PDF folio that we received via email from Lakeshore Reserve the other day.

I have not had any issues. What are you using to open the file? Your web browser or the Adobe reader? My system is set to default to Adobe Reader, but it should work with both.

I have never had that problem either. You may already be doing this, but instead of opening the attachment in your email program or browser, download and save it to computer or device and then open it from within your PDF reader. Although you open lots of PDFs make sure you can still do so - maybe there's a recent update to your PDF reader that's gumming things up.(I realize that's not likely, but I'm just throwing spaghetti against the wall) And while I can't imagine what it would be, maybe there's a setting in your PDF program causing the problem. And when your solve this one, let us know!

I've had the same problem from several places. It has to do with the file being encrypted and not being able to open. I am pretty computer savvy and can't figure it out. If you are Marriott Bonvoy, it will show up there, but not at a detail level.

Not sure what is causing you this problem, however since it is a known issue I would advise that you always obtain a folio at the front desk when checking out.

I routinely do this when I check out as I no longer have a printer at home.

I've had the same issue with other PDFs before on my PC. My solution was to go to Task Manager, and "shut down" all versions of Adobe running on the PC. Once I did that, I was able to open the PDF.

Had same problem a month ago from Newport Coast.

I've had the issue but I've always been able to open somewhere (iPhone, computer, iPad). You might try opening with a different program. Also make sure acrobat is updated if using it.
