Dear Group:

I recently had a great 3 week stay at Marriott Beachplace Towers(“MBP”). However, next January I’m considering Marriott Oceana Palms. Anyone have an opinion on Oceana Palms? How are the rooms? Beach? Is the parking better than MBP? How are the elevators (the wait for elevators at MBP can be tough)? How is the area around Oceana?

Any opinions are greatly appreciated. Thank-you!!!

I stayed at Marriott Oceana Palms last year and loved it. The rooms are nice, and the beach is less crowded than MBP. Parking is easier, and the elevators were quick. The area is quieter but still close to shops and restaurants. I'd recommend it!

Mpyankees,
If you liked Beachplace towers, you will like Oceana Palms as it is a similar high rise building. Personally, we’ve stayed in both and I don’t like these high rise layouts. Parking is a hassle and waiting for elevators is not ideal when we’re on vacation. The beach at Oceana Palms is ok, but it is limited in size.
I think a better choice is Marriotts Ocean Point, a couple miles away on Singer Island. It is a low rise layout, much bigger with better beach access and a few pools. We are headed there this Saturday for a week but have stayed there many times before as owners. If you have any specific questions I can give you more information when I’m there next week.
Good luck.

While you can walk to all kinds of restaurants and bars around Beachplace Towers, the same isn't true for Ocean Palms. You would want a car to get to many of the better restaurants in the area. Outside of that, everything is better at Oceana Palms.
