Hello,

I have a friend who is considereing buying at this resort. I have a few ?'s that I was hoping someone could answer.

1)Does anyone know the weeks that are platinum vs gold?
2)What is the rate on a resale for a platinum and gold week?
3)My friend owns a fixed week at another resort(not Marriott) and she is worried about buying a season..she is worried that when she calls to book her week(lets says summer-Platinum) she won't be able to get it. Do you have to be calling as soon as the time period opens up to get your week? I own at CH and I call a year in advance to get Presidents Week each year. If I don't call within that 1st week most likely they won't have that week available.
4)The views at MB(Ocean Front, Ocean Side and Garden View)--I assume Garden view is a little bit cheaper which I think is fine with her. Would that be the buildings in the back that are under construction? Does anybody know when the construction is to be done?

Thank you in advance for all your great advice I anticipate.

1)Platinum = weeks 20-32 (minus July 4th week); Gold = weeks 9-19 & 33-36.
2)I didn't find anything on eBay right now. Found some on Redweek, but some of them don't identify season. Lowest asking price I found for Gold GV is $11K. There are a bunch of other places to search. Check out the Buying/Selling forum.
3)It is recommended to call/book online as early as is allowed. I've waited multiple weeks past my earliest opportunity and still received the weeks I wanted at my 2 Marriott locations. This isn't easy to answer.
4)GV will be cheaper, it will be the buildings in the back, and I do not know when the construction is going to be done. I'm exchanged into Ocean Watch for June, and looking forward to it!

Garden View Buildings

4) This is part of an update from the General Manager at Ocean Watch. The GM is referring to the buildings that will have the garden and ocean view units.

The Maple Villa is slated for occupancy in May 2008. Along with the Maple Villa, the resort will have a new fitness center, Magnolia, and the long-awaited, lagoon-type, zero-entry pool. Magnolia will house a beautiful indoor swimming pool, a children’s pool, a whirlpool spa, saunas and steam rooms as well as a 2,500-square-foot fitness room.

Three tiered sun decks, perfect for lounging, will overlook the zero-entry pool and the surrounding area will offer pool fountains, a waterslide, a large whirlpool spa, a food and beverage kiosk, a tree house, barbecue grills, and a putting green. The half basketball court will come to fruition with the completion of phase five, planned to open in 2010. All of these amenities will be located in the woodsy area of Marriott’s Ocean Watch.
