Leaving for OP this Sunday and want advice on Bldg/Flr/Rm etc. It will be just me and the bride (25yrs). She excercises and I lounge so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Well, Cobia and Pampano are closest to the fitness center in the main complex. Kingfish has it's own pool, fitness center and bar but is seperated from the main complex by a big pink building.

IMO, there isn't a bad location at Ocean Pointe. This time of year the family traffic is down so the main family pools aren't as choked with children as they would be during the summer.

Which building I ask for just depends upon my mood that year. The last coupld of years we've asked for and been assigned Sailfish. This year I've asked for Cobia, Kingfish or Pampano in that order. We haven't stayed in Cobia for 4 years and haven't been in Pampano in 3 years. We've never been assigned to Kingfish.

Originally, they were selling Kingfish as an "exclusive" location and you had to buy into that building to stay in that building. That didn't work out so well for Marriott. A couple of years ago one of the letters we received from OP's management stated that all requests couldn't always be honored and expect to take our turn having to stay in Kingfish.

We (as EXCHANGERS!!!) were given a Kingfish corner unit facing the ocean from the back, and 'channel' to the right on our September 2005 trip.

I thought I was the king!!!

They've all been well maintained. They are just now starting their 10 year renovations. I think, but would not swear to it, that Sailfish will be undergoing renovations in 2009 followed by Dolpin, Cobia, Pompano and Kingfish in subsequent years. While I should know the schedule I really haven't paid attention. As it stands now, Kingfish would be the newest building and should be the last for renovations.
