I am only getting the 6x credit for Marriott stays and expenses on the credit card. I have asked them to check. They opened a case number. They have emailed me like a gazzilion times with all different requests. They do not seem to read my questions and comments regarding the problem. The email string is getting huge with the same questions on my end but all kind of different responses on their end. Has this happened to anyone?

Chase Marriott VISA? Is 11 points a special promotion?
I usually just get 6x points on my Marriott charges. I have the Chase Marriott VISA & AmEx Marriott.

Yes, in the middle of a 2+ month support chain email, but not with Marriott. It's oversea team though and it would not surprise me if it's the same setup with Marriott

Earn up to 17X total points for every $1 spent at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy®

1) Earn 6X points with Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card*Opens Marriott Boundless offer details overlay

2) Earn up to 10X points from Marriott Bonvoy® for being a loyalty member*Opens Marriott Boundless offer details overlay

3) Earn up to 1X points from Marriott Bonvoy® with Silver Elite Status*

I have titanium status with Marriott. When I stay at a Marriott Bonvoy property I received loyalty points for my stay, 17.5 points per dollar. These points post a couple of days after I checkout.

I also receive 6 points per dollar for Marriott charges to my Marriott Bonvoy VISA. These points post a few days after the monthly statement closes.

So you are having trouble with # 2 & 3 above? The points for being a loyalty member & and extra 10% bonus for your silver elite status?

Have you contacting the credit card company about this?

#1 comes from Chase to Bonvoy. #2 and #3 are from Marriott to Bonvoy. Depending our your hotel brand, it's not always 10X. #3 is a 10% bonus of #2.

Correct. Add’l 11 don’t come via the credit card.

TravelTime you booked through Marriott.com using your chase marriott card? Which Marriott hotel group- Marriott, Residence Inn, Court yard , Vacation club, etc? Or do you mean just incidentals when staying on timeshare stays?

#2 is the normal points earned when you reserve on Marriott.com. These are the points that post a few nights after checkout. The same is true for #3, but you may get more for Gold, Plat or Titanium status. Chase or Amex only give you #1.

The card earns 6X on Marriott purchases.

marriott provides 10X for non elite members.
11X- Silver
12.5X- Gold
15X- Platinum
17.5X- Titanium and above.

the Marriott points per dollar are separate from the credit card points per dollar and will show after each stay. The credit card points per dollar will show at the end of each billing cycle.

The 10x points is varies depending on hotel brand:

I believe they were all timeshare stays and the charges were related activities. Maybe those are not included?

I would say that is correct.

I would say that is correct.

So the extra charges even if they are Marriott spends do not qualify for the extra 11x points? I asked them to tell me and they do not respond to that question.

It depends. As an example, if you charge a jeep tour to your villa, many times that would not qualify for the 11X Marriott spend for Bonvoy Points. But either way, your beef is not with Chase for this type of points issue. It would be with Bonvoy (Marriott).

Did you charge them to your room and then pay at check out or did you pay as you used the services?

They are very non committal in defining what makes a charge eligible in all of the written explanations that I have seen. It isn't clear if you aren't paying for your room through marriott.com if that makes a difference on the eligibility of the purchases.

"Hotel Dining & Beverages
Earn on more than just your room. Earn on all eligible hotel purchases, including dining, beverages, rounds of golf, spa services, and more."

I might start over with a new email and state that you did not receive your 10X's bonus plus your silver bonus. If they say those purchases are ineligible ask why.

Many times activities charged to your room at a timeshare property won't qualify for the 11 points per dollar. If another entity is providing the service (snorkel tour, etc.), then Marriott won't give you points on those charges. I've had that happen many times in Hawaii for activities I've booked through the hotel.

I couldn't even get Marriott to give me bonus points for Marketplace charges. I got the standard reply of your nights are posted already. I didn't bother to escalate further.

Some expenses that you charge to your stay are not Marriott operated, thus they don't qualify for the points. For example at Kauai Beach Club, the marketplace and other shops are just leased space and you do not get points, also concierge booked activities like tours, etc do not earn points. Some restaurants on the property are not affiliated with Marriott and will not earn points. Make sure you receive a copy of your bill at checkout and that it shows your Marriott bonvoy number. It is essential to correcting any missing points from your stay.
