We will be traveling to Williamsburg in August. I have a reservation booked through our Marriott timeshare and 1 night I booked for cash on Marriott.com. I asked for the reservations to be linked. What steps can I do to try and stay in the same room? They are both 1 bedroom units. The timeshare says 1 bedroom villa, master portion of 2 bedroom. The paid reservation says 1 bedroom villa. Also any recommendations on buildings would be great! TIA for any help.

Contact the resort to see if they will keep you in the same room.

II Marriott's Manor Club at Ford's Colony MMC MSE
101 St. Andrews Drive - Williamsburg, Virginia 23188

Marriott`s Manor Club has two sections: The original non-lockoff section (MMC)
and the three-building lockoff section across the street called the 'Sequel (MSE).

While MSE suites are very slightly smaller than MMC, they actually have more sleeping room as the guest bedroom (studio unit) in MSE has a king bed and a double sofa bed while MMC 2nd bedroom has just a king bed and a window seat...Marriott MSE sleeps 8 while MMC sleeps 6 people.

Call the resort direct at 1-757-258-1120 to confirm
and request your August reservations to be linked.

The Sequel section are two bedrooms lockout villas.

I contacted the Manor Club and they were able to tell me that my two reservations were for the same type of villa. They were able to link the 2 reservations together. They added a note that I would like to stay in the same villa. The representative said they try to keep you in the same room if possible when having two reservations. I figured I would be in the Sequel section as it was a lockout as Pedro47 said. Thanks Silentg, Miss Marty and Pedro47 for the help!

Ask for a high floor as far from the elevators as possible. Unlike the original section, the Sequel are three story buildings with the elevator, ice machine, and laundry room right by the front entrance. If you are close to the elevators you will have foot traffic all day long from people walking from their rooms. At the end, it's just you. Almost nobody knows to make this request so you should be able to get it.

If I owned a non-lockoff Marriott Manor Club, could I still book a lockoff and trade 2 units in II? [Float Week# 13-43 & 48-52 Platinum]

No. Unlike most MVC's, Marriott completely sold the lock off section Manor club sequel and the original section with dedicated 2 BR's separately. You can only book what you own.

To expand, they are technically and legally two separate timeshares. Other similar examples that immediately come to mind would be the old and new section on Maui, Harbour Pointe/Sunset Point, DSV I & II, Aruba Ocean Club/Surf Club and maybe Vail. If they creat a new resort it gives them more options to adjust pricing and the seasons such as Plus or even weeks or even to change the seasons in the new resort to maximize revenue.

The Sequel one bedroom villas has a king size bed, with two LG Televisions, internet, a pull out sofa, a washer & dryer,
a full kitchen, a nice living and dining room area, with a working fireplace, a walk in shower in the bathroom ,and a soaking tub with jets .
Plus a nice enclosed balcony with a table and chairs.

We have stayed in the sequel section twice..both times in late October we love the units..the property and the surrounding area…and Williamsburg is a short distance away using the beautiful Colonial Parkway.

I beleive Shadow Ridge is another example.
