Marriott-London?

I thought I once saw 47 Park Street in the II directly, but now I only see Club Sunterra at Carlton Court in London. Being fractional ownership, i'm not sure it even belongs to II (or the Four Seasons in Costa Rica which is also fractional).

Doe anyone have the old 3 letter II code?

Club Sunterra at Carlton Court • CTN
London, England

The II code for the Marriott Grand Residence Club, 47 Park Street, is MFA.

MFA is fractional ownership resort, but owners have the option depositing weeks into II. Owners also have the option of renting. Considering the high nightly rent, those MFA owners can use the rental proceeds to stay just about anywhere and come out ahead. It just doesn't pay for MFA owners to deposit into II.

I was very lucky to get an exchange there in April 2005. There were 4 weeks deposited in about 6 weeks prior to check-in for mid-April. I know at least 2 of them went to other TUGgers. I just happened to spot one online and grabbed it. When I called to book it with II, the rep I spoke to couldn't believe it was there.

I did also see a 1 bedroom unit available last minute for the week before Christmas 2005. So II does get some deposits but they go very quickly!

The April '05 deposits were a 1 bedroom and a 2 bedroom for 2 weeks in a row. They must have been Marriott deposits. It is an incredible property with a great location. I think the 2 bedroom units rent from Marriott for around $1,200 per night.

I remember when you guys got those deposits that was a great find. I know they had some deposits. Just not that many...

Are you looking to go to London, or just curious about the Residence Club? I think the Res. Club trade chances will be pretty "slim to none" for all of us, and since there are no other Marriott timeshares (yes, there are other brands which are OK) , we decided to utilize our points to stay at London Marriott's County Hall (twice now at CH) and also Grosvenor Sq. Hotel , and both were fabulous. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else now, since we had such a great experience, and both have such good locations. CH is best for a "first trip", since it's right there at Westminster bridge, on the Thames, and looking directly across the river to Big Ben. Couldn't get any better than that. Also within walking distance to Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, Westminster Abbey, and many, many other great London tourist locations like Trafalgar Sq., Picadilly Cir., etc. Also close to the train station, from which we took several out-trips to castles, palaces, towns, etc. Anyway, I didn't know the original intent of your question, but decided to put in my 2 cents' worth. Our kids will never forget looking out the window at Big Ben, and also hearing the chimes every hour. One could also just sit and stare at the boats all day long....and at night, Big Ben is all lit up and very beautiful. Our favorite trip, tho, was walking to Sherlock Holmes Pub, just across the bridge and down a few streets. (Our first trip, we were in England for 3 weeks total....second time, two weeks in Scotland and one back in London.) jme
