Marriott Kauai Lagoons -
Does anyone know if they are doing tours of this property, and if they are offering any incentives?

You might try a search, because I remember reading a couple of people's posts about tours there...

Yes they are...

Marriott Kauai Lagoons -
Does anyone know if they are doing tours of this property, and if they are offering any incentives?

We were there in May and went on a tour with another couple that stayed with us. They were offering the the usual incentives. 20K Marriott Reward points or $200 in Marriott Bucks to apply to room charges.

They were also offering a "return incentive" for a 1 week Kauai Marriott 1br/2ba ocean front unit any time in the next 2yrs for about $1900. Check in starting ANY day of the week ( not just Fri/Sa/Sun) space available.

Since I know that the Kauai Marriott was supposedly sold out I asked where this inventory they were offering came from. The explained that Marriott re-bought some units to accommodate the nonavailability of units during the remodel.

This was before all the roll out and news about the new point system was announced. I'm not sure if Marriott will now keep these units as part of the "points trust" or resell them later...

How would I get them to invite us to do the tour, and get the incentives? I don't want to look too interested. I would like to see the property. We will be staying at the Marriott Kauai for a couple of days in August.

Just ask. Remember, they're not selling weeks anymore; just points. But, before making a decision on buying points you'd like to see the place where you have dreamed of booking into, correct? Wink, wink.

You can go to the timeshare desk in the check-in/out lobby. Just ask for a 30 minute tour without the bonus dollars. If you want the incentives, then expect a harder sell and longer presentation. The salesperson will gladly write up a time slot that will work with your schedule. The Kauai Lagoons timeshare check-in area is located near the pro shop of the golf course. I played golf and then got a nice tour of the units. The units are definitely oceanfront and awesome views of the rocky shoreline with white water. 20 foot sliding doors open up to the view. No real beach area nearby except back at the Kauai Marriott. I went back at the end of May on a business trip and things have changed with the new point system. $52k for a fixed Thanksgiving week + ~$1650 MF. The nearby Ritz residences were being planned for 2013 opening.

I was wondering if they had a beach area. I want to see what incentives they are offering now. In my opinion it should be more than when they were selling weeks!

I love this!

Their beach area is situated down a fairly steep cliff. It's a small sandy beach called Ninini, where a lot of local kids boogie board and body surf. There's also a smaller beach called Running Waters, but the path is even steeper. The Kauai Lagoons is built on a cliff and looks out towards Kalapaki Bay.

It's gorgeous. Thanks for the picture. It's nothing like the beach they have a the Kauai Marriott or even Waiohai.
