Is anyone else having problems signing on to the Bonvoy website? Here is the comedy of errors I experienced today.
1. Attempted sign-on #1 - After entering my ID and password, I got a message that I needed to change my password. OK, I did that.
2. Attempted sign-on #2 - I was unable to sign on using the new password and also unable to sign on with my old password
3. I then navigated to the page that allows you to request that Marriott send you your password. FAIL.
4. I called the Bonvoy 800 number. The rep said that my account showed that I had never previously used the Bonvoy website. But I've had a Marriott hotel web account even before we purchased our first Marriott timeshare in 2014. The rep suggested I create a new online account. FAIL.
5. The phone rep then had web support send me a link via email to reset the password for my existing account. FAIL.
6. At this point the phone rep admitted that she had already had 3 similar calls this morning for Bonvoy website issues. She said they were working on a fix and to try again in an hour. FAIL.
I next tried to sign on to my wife's Bonvoy account. I got a message that I needed to change her password. OK, Marriott. I'm not that stupid. I stopped there.
I doubt that I am the only one who seems to be constantly putting out fires due to corporate incompetence/errors.
Yesterday I called (and hopefully resolved) a several hundred dollar overcharge on a recent Budget car rental. The Budget representative apparently put down that our rental car's odometer showed 5300 miles when we picked it up, but actually is was 53,000 miles. Oops! So I had to phone Budget and explain that we did not drive that car all the way around the Earth a few times. It's hard these days to get competent employees. Then early today I finally resolved a several week old issue with American Airlines that resulted from a flight delay that caused us to miss our connection (it seems that you can't let the plane take off on time if there's no pilot). I was on a roll!! But now Marriott has burst my bubble. Back to the drawing board.
