Marriott Grand Residences Lake Tahoe 1 vs 2

The Marriott Grand Residences Lake Tahoe show up as two different resorts in the 'Destinations, Club Resorts' list but when you go to book it/them it only shows as one resort (unlike MOC). Do you book and then place a villa request when you get the pre-arrival email? Or am I missing something? TIA

I think this is the case. What request are you planning? I would just stay away from the street if possible, it’s noisy.

MVC rents a huge number of rooms there through Marriott, and I doubt those folks make requests. So I think you’d have a good chance with a reasonable request. In my experience the room control folks do pay attention to notes that I add, but my experience is limited to Abound reservations.

No immediate plans. Basically, I was building a list of MVW resorts sorted by type (Abound Points, the various Asia point systems, weeks in the Abound Trust, and weeks that can't be put into the Abound trust) to help explain to people who complain that 'I can't get a reservation anywhere' what is going on behind the scenes (and therefore which resorts are more or less likely to have availability).

MOC is all weeks based but shows as two separate resorts. Crystal Shores shows as one resort...but divides by view type. Osprey is a weeks based building w/Gulf Front, Gulf Side, and Gulf View while Egret is a points only building with Standard, Island, Pool View High, and Pool View Low. And I wondered what the story was with MGR Lake Tahoe.

Cool. We are heading up today and if I spot the manager or room control I’ll see if they know. I’ve noticed the two resort codes and wondered that also.

In any case MGR (and Timberlodge) are great for last minute, partial week reservations. We book a year out to be confident but “Puck” 100% of our stays, even holiday weekends. We are in Tahoe almost every weekend due to my kid’s skiing addiction.
