We will be visiting Desert Springs I for the first time at the end of January. We will be staying in a one bedroom villa. I would appreciate some input on a location request. We would like to stay in a quiet building that has nice views of the mountains. Being within walking distance of a heated pool would also be nice. I was also wondering about whether to request a first or second floor unit.

Your recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I think buildings P-V would have the best mountain views. With building R having the best. All of those locations would be in a quieter area because they are farthest from the main lobby. You want to avoid buildings A-E because they back up to Cook Street which does have some traffic noise. There are several pools scattered throughout the resort all being close. Although not sure if all are heated during the winter. I know the main pools are. My favorite is building O which has a fantastic view of golf course and JW hotel. I also like buildings H-N just because the are closer to the JW. But none of them are that far away from anything. Its a great resort and I still think one of the best maintained.

Thank you for the recommendations. Your input is very helpful! I was wondering what the views are from buildings K-N? Any preference for first or second floor?

If you have kids, go for the 1st floor. If you don't have kids/ don't like to hear them jumping around above you, choose the 2nd floor. There aren't any elevators, so if you have difficult schlepping your suitcases to the second floor, then stay on the bottom floor. At this time of year there aren't really very many kids.

Buildings K-N look out over the golf course to the side of the hotel. Not much a view of the hotel mostly a parking structure, conference rooms, and bushes. Its alright not bad. K-N has a good location to the main lobby. There is no mountain views from K-N. Either floor is fine. Just of matter if you want to go up and down the stairs. I prefer first floor just because of the ease of use, especially when we bring grandkids along. Unless your going over a holiday week not many kids this time of year.
