There are several properties in Palm Desert and we’ve been to most many years ago. I’m curious what the consensus is for the preferred location at this time before making a reservation? (Shadow Ride, Shadow Ridge-Enclaves, Desert Springs I or II). They all seem to be available when we are looking-March 2025

Thanks

Shadow Ridge is more family oriented with limited restaurants. But, the restaurants at DS are expensive and not up to par to the cost IMO. Here a few threads to view:
Good day fellow tuggers! I’m looking for advice from any frequent Marriott Palm Desert timeshare owners / renters. I’ve searched the forums, but have been unable to answer my questions, so I would really appreciate some expert guidance! My adult daughter and I are planning a mother / daughter...
I asked before and decided on a 1 bedroom at Desert Springs 2 because of the proximity to the spa (even though I know it’s not complimentary). Now I need another bedroom for 3 nights. XYZ at II isn’t working for me. Should I consider Shadow Ridge? Is it a better resort because of the...
I am planning next years trip! We will be travelling to California in July (hot I know!) and plan a trip to Joshua Tree park and a week or so in Palm Springs. I see that a couple of the reviews rate Desert Springs Villas I higher than Villas II and say that access to the J.W. spa is included...
We go to Desert Springs 1 because we like having privileges at the JW. The JW pool is nicer than the MVC as is their gym and we enjoy eating over at their restaurants. Its a short walk or there is a shuttle if you prefer that. Plenty of tennis, golf etc. If you prefer to walk back and forth, request units F G,H. These units face the golf course and JW, not the road. https://content.vistana.com/files/l...lub/DE-M-012_SiteMap_Layered_WCAG_FN_1300.png
If all are available for March 2025, I think that the consensus opinion would be DSV1, DSV2, SR in that order? At Sr, either Villages or Enclaves - - they both have some plusses and minuses. But, honestly, all are good and none will disappoint.
The earlier comment that Shadow Ridge doesn't have nearby restaurants? So, you need to drive 1-8 miles to access about 35 restaurants? Not a big deal in my opinion. But there might be some dust from the construction to the West.
BTW, I own at DSV1, DSV2, SRE. I actually kind of prefer DSV2 over the other ones. The majority of times we book the 2 BR units.
We just got back from DSV II a couple weeks ago and have stayed at both DSV I and DSV II a couple times each. DSV I units are bigger than DSV II, but for just a couple that shouldn't make much difference. If you want to be closer to the JW Marriott choose DSV I, if you want to be closer to the bigger Palmeras Pool with the Waters Edge Grill, then DSV II might be a better choice. You really can't go wrong with either.
Our favorite view was in DSV I on our first trip in building J or I looking across the lake towards the JW. Our worst view was on this last trip in building 848 in DSV II. We were looking at the roof of the Palmeras Pool/Waters Edge building with no view of the golf course. Beautiful view of the mountains in the distance, though.
