HI
I saw a 2bedroom surf on ebay that had a starting bid for 1200. It was the fourth of July week and surprisingly no one bid on it. It is now reposted with a starting bid of 1000. This is a super price for a 2bedroom rental in aruba. Why do you think it didnt sell?

I track Marriott rentals on Ebay. There are now 114 rentals (all brands) appearing 14 are Marriott. I do not see the one you are talking about. Not that I doubt you but probably for some reason it is not appearing in my list. But I would offer some in site in regard to this particular week. I have reserved the 4th of July week and the week before for a guess about three years now. I own 2BR OS units. I have stated in prior posts concerning renting a unit that the 4th of July week does not make Marriott's cut under their new rental policy. The exchange for points at the going rate of exchange (90,000) is slightly more than the current asking price of the rental. I have rented my week (s) on Ebay and my 2BR OS units get between $25-2800 and split 1 BR $1800 (or less) and the studio about $1200. Not having seen the bid you are talking about I would question the bidder's feedback rating, read the rental carefully, payment method accepted, any reserve to be met etc. I think that since he did not get the offers on the original posting for $1200 and has now dropped it to $1000 makes me suspicious. It appears he is just trying to dump it (to make the Mf is around that figure). If it is legit offering it would be a good buy. But "buyer beware" is definitely in order. Is the unit offered worth more $1000 dollars. Absolutely! Is it what the rental market will bare? IMHO much less. Do owners who rent at these prices hurt other owners? IMHO yes. Is this a last minute unit that an owner is trying to rent? With about 4 months left to July 4 I would hold out for a higher price or put a reserve amount in to be met. But thats me. Marriott gets over 3k for the same week if they rent it...go figure. This link is for Marriott rentals

Now notice the price for Easter Week. Last minute, hoping to get back some funds.

Oceanview unit.....Paypal accepted....SquareTrade verified....owner feedback is 0....first time at renting? I am not an expert but the auction looks in order to me. Thanks for the link I am going to adjust my settings for Marriott rentals.
