Your unit has less value than the one you are after.

I agree. Summer weeks at Custom House are in high demand, partly because it's the only timeshare in Boston. There are no other timeshares within an hour of downtown Boston. You might get lucky, but don't count on it.

i will have the highest demand Shadow Ridge week reserved
Week #9/March,2010
(according to interval demand index)

I will have this
booked by Feb,2009

if were me, would you deposit that (1) bedroom and Studio
marriott Shadow Ridge/year 2010
as early as Feb,2009
with interval

I will be giving up an Interval/Bonus week
by doing so far in advance
but
in your opinions
/that know so much more about this than me

Will i increase my chances dramatically
of Week #9/year 2010
one bedroom at Marriot Shadow Ridge ( highest possible/demand with interval)
to get (1) bedroom
at the Marriott custom House
June 5,2009-June 12,2009

is it worth giving up interval/Acccomdation certificate
by banking that week so early

thanks alot for all your help
i apprcaite this alot

any other strategies are appreciated

I wouldn't do that. I don't think you'll increase your chances much.

One big problem is trying to trade at this late date. When you are seeking a tough trade, you should put your exchange request into II more than a year in advance. That way, you'll be in line when people reserve their tough-to-reserve weeks a year in advance and deposit them immediately with II. For the June 2009 week you want, that would have happened back in early June of this year.

I don't always know which exchanges will be tough and which ones won't. A lot depends on how many weeks that I want are deposited in II by their owners. Thus, to avoid that issue as much as possible, I plan my timeshare vacations as much as two to three years in advance and always make my exchange requests more than a year in advance. So far, I have been successful with every exchange I have requested.

No, I wouldn't give up on Interval. You might well get lucky. There's no way to predict for sure. But I would sure have a back-up plan in place. What that back-up plan is, you'll have to decide.

Not sure if you are set on that particular week. We had good luck trading our Marriott Grande Vista/ presidents week for last week of August at Custom House. This is a terrific property in a great location in Boston.

If your friends have that two-months-plus flexibility, be sure your exchange request includes that entire time period. I predict you'll have a reasonable chance of success if you do it that way. Asking for a single week, as you said until now that you needed, is a factor that would have made your exchange unlikely. That's because, as I stated above, "A lot depends on how many weeks that [you] want are deposited in II by their owners."

my Marriott shadow ridge studio was able "to pull" a
MArriot custom House/1 bedroom, for thanksgiving week
November 20,2009-November 27,2009
early this morning

Interval/Online Daily search
not
Interval/ongoign search

does that give me any hope for June 5,2009-June 19,2009
one bedroom at marriott custom house

or
not really?

I doubt it would pull a Platinum season Custom House unless you are dealing during "flextime" (i.e. within 60 days of check in).

Another note: Reading all your posts it seems you really want to obtain a Custom House week during the Platinum season; that said you're best bet would be to book it for seven nights thru Marriott via the 800 phone number, and if your trade comes thru then you can cancel your nightly reservation request and use your exchange request instead.

Best of luck.

It's time that you learned how to determine the relative trading strength of various weeks at II's website for both sides of a potential exchange. You have shown you know how to access II's Travel Demand Index for a particular resort. You should do the same for Custom House. You'll see that Thanksgiving week is a relatively low power week at Custom House compared to the high power (e.g., difficult to trade into) for the June week you want.

Thus, the answer to your question is that finding that Thanksgiving week doesn't help your chances for getting the June week at all.

I will be using a (1) bedroom Marritt Shadow Ridge to try to get a Marriott custom House, in June,2009
with an interval ongoing search

The Studio part of a differretn Marriott Shadow Ridge
is what i used to see
a Marrott Custom House/one bedroom
Thanksgiving week
a few days ago

but it sounds like I am unlikely to succeed. I still appreciate everyone sincer advice and help

Thank you also for your advice. I tried to rent a Marriott custom house one bedroom and they told me no availability for rentals.
