Hello Everyone,
We will be at legends edge bay point Aug 31-Sept 7. Will any other Tugers going to be there? Can anyone fill me in on what to expect of the resort, any pointers on what room to ask for, any must do things to see and/or experience. Any good places to eat.

Are you traveling with kids? Ages?

We stayed in the Marriott hotel there and thought the resort area was nice. Surrounded by the golf course. The were rehabbing the course so didn't play. Didn't see much in the way of swimable beach at the resort but it isn't far.

Take the shuttle to Shell Island - maybe pack a picnic. The water is so clear that you can see your toe nail polish while standing in water up to your neck!! Loved that! Take the Pirate cruise if you have kids. It was fun for them and relaxing for us. There is a restaurant right at the pier where you get off the ship that was really good but I can't remember the name.

There is a little bar/restaurant at the end of the dock at the hotel. It was nice to sit on the water at sunset and have a light meal and drinks. There was live entertainment the night we were there.

Be sure to get steamed shrimp at a local shrimp shack. It is really good stuff.

side point

I was told once that some time in August, the Jellyfish start to migrate to the gulf around this area.

Does anyone know when is the peak season for shark and Jellyfish for Destin and Panama beach so that we can avoid swiming during that time??
