We were in Cabo in January and I was able to negotiate $300 in golden dollars that must be spent in the golden zone in multiples of $50 with no change back. There is a mini market, gift store and several decent restaurants to use the script at. This will be for touring Hacienda Encantada only. If you insist on only going to the Marina Fiesta property then it's only $50 in the form of one dinning cert as that property is mostly sold out and the sister property (Hacienda Encantada) is their current sales location.
You can make arrangements in person with Gabrial their OPC that works the booth at the end corner of the Golden Zone. (the Marina front desk can not give you as good an offer).
I've heard the current best cash deal is $200 from the airport OPCs but since the golden zone is located adjacent to Marina Fiesta you might find the $300 in Golden zone script as good a deal.
PM me if you have additional questions.

I've never encountered the term "golden zone" in Cabo before. What does it encompass?

As for reviews on this resort, there are some recent ones on Tripadvisor. TUG resort reviews can be accessed only by members.

We stayed at Marina Fiesta five years ago in a studio and had a nice time. The location is great--just steps from the marina--and security is good. It is an older property, but is well maintained and may have undergone some refurbishing since we were there. It's not too far from Medano Beach, which is the safe beach for swimming. Restaurants, bars, and shopping are all quite close.

Have fun in Cabo.

The Golden Zone is the block of businesses that runs from Captian Jacks and the Tequila Museum to the Lobster restaurant at the corner where the OPC booth is.
It's my understanding that all of these businesses are either owned by the developer of Marina Fiesta/Hacienda Encantada or they are all tenants that are required to accept Golden dollar certificates.
There have been recent (and ongoing) renovations at Marina Fiesta. We hope to stay there this fall to see if the soundproofing has improved as this used to be the common complaint at this resort as it's on the Marina and the neighboring bars play louder music the slower they get- it's still Chinatown
